ReviewOncological safety of nipple-sparing prophylactic mastectomy: A review of the literature on 3716 cases.
The objective of our study was to evaluate the risk of cancer after prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomy (PNSM). ⋯ In prophylactic breast surgery, conservation of the nipple areolar complex does not seem to increase the risk of cancer development. However, short follow-up time and the different methodologies applied in the different studies presently preclude generalization of the technique.

Autologous fat transfer, or lipofilling, is a common technique used for soft tissue reconstruction. It has been used for many years, but the technique is associated with a significant graft resorption rate (20% to 80%). ⋯ In this concise review, we present the clinical indications, and the technical principles of CAL, as well as a presentation of ASC. To conclude, we present the main results (efficacy, complications and safety) obtained from different studies of this technique.

Review[Role of skin substitutes in surgical repair of the sequelae of burn injuries].
The therapeutic management of the sequelae of deep burns always relies in principle on dermal-epidermal grafts. The latter, the price of which to pay is heavy scarring, cannot always be performed because the surface of skin available may not be sufficient. Research pathways have turned towards the creation of skin substitutes to minimise the scarring and improve the cosmetic quality of the grafts. We review the technical characteristics of collagen matrixes (Intégra(®) - Matriderm(®)) and their method of use.

The use of microsurgery in the management of burn sequelae is not a new idea and free flaps have been used in this context since the 1970s. New technologies like negative pressure treatment and skin substitute have certainly decreased the indication of free flaps. ⋯ From a technical point of view, they find that realizing a free flap for these patients is more complicated (venous damage, lack of donor site who has been burned…). Despite this, microsurgery must still belong in the decision tree and there are some irreplaceable indication specially for hand reconstruction.

Review[Substantiated scientific facts, current scientific facts. What are the consequences in esthetic surgery?].
"Substantiated scientific facts" is reported in 1936 Mercier decree. This expression is often confused with current scientific facts. But, for jurists, they have different senses with consequences in aesthetic surgery, particularly when using new procedures or when new indications are founded for substantiated techniques. Fat autograft in breast aesthetic surgery is a current event example.
