No specific treatment exists for poisoning with most fat-soluble drugs. Intravenous lipid emulsion (ILE) may be effective therapy against such drugs, but effects of ILE treatment are unclear. A 24-year-old woman with depression seen sleeping in the morning was found comatose in the evening, and an emerging lifesaving technologies service was called. ⋯ The patient recovered without any major complications and was transferred to another hospital for psychiatric treatment 70 days after admission. Concentrations of CPZ and MZP were still high when return of spontaneous circulation was achieved with ILE. This case suggested the possible benefit of ILE in treating life threatening cardiotoxicity from CPZ and MZP overdose.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomized single-blinded clinical trial on effects of nursery songs for infants and young children's anxiety before and during head computed tomography.
The objective of this clinical trial was to determine if an intervention of listening to nursery songs with integrated heartbeat sounds resulted in changes in anxiety levels in infants and children younger than 4 years in an emergent setting. ⋯ Measured on a VAS, there was a significant decrease in agitation in children undergoing a head CT when children's songs with integrated heartbeat sounds were played before and during the procedure.

Clinical Trial Observational Study
Predictors of patient adherence to follow-up recommendations after an ED visit.
It is unclear whether factors identified during the emergency department (ED) visit predict noncompliance with ED recommendations. ⋯ Individuals who reported that cost affects their ability to follow their physician's recommendations and those who did not have a PCP were less likely to follow ED recommendations. Identification of predictors of noncompliance during the ED visit may aid in ensuring compliance with ED recommendations.

Fecal calprotectin is used as a good indicator of intestinal mucosal inflammation. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of fecal calprotectin (f-CP) for the etiology of acute gastroenteritis in children. ⋯ We conclude that f-CP, which is useful, valuable, noninvasive, easily and rapidly measured laboratory test along with simple microscopic examination of stool, can be used as an indicator of intestinal inflammation and to distinguish the bacterial gastroenteritis from the viral gastroenteritis.

Subtalar dislocations are uncommon injuries, and anterior subtalar dislocations are extremely rare. Only 7 cases have been reported in detail in the literature, but all were associated with substantial displacement immediately apparent on radiographs. We report a case of a subtle anterior subtalar dislocation that was missed on initial plain films but was subsequently treated successfully with closed reduction.
