Acute myocardial damage is detected in a significant portion of patients with coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) infection, with a reported prevalence of 7-28%. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between electrocardiographic findings and the indicators of the severity of COVID-19 detected on electrocardiography (ECG). ⋯ ST depression, T-wave inversion, ST-T changes, and the presence of fQRS on admission ECG are closely associated with the severity of COVID-19 infection.

Observational Study
The feasibility of bedside transvaginal ultrasonography in non-pregnant women in the emergency department.
We recorded data on the routine use of point-of-care transvaginal ultrasound (POC TVUS) for the evaluation of non-pregnant women with pelvic complaints in the Emergency Department (ED), and sought to determine how it altered the diagnostic impression and management. ⋯ In this study, emergency physicians were able to efficiently obtain and interpret POC TVUS images that changed assessment of non-pregnant women with pelvic pain without significantly increasing the ED length of stay.

Case Reports
A new medication, a new toxidrome - A case report of anticholinergic wipe toxicity due to improper medication use.
We describe a case of a young female who presented to the emergency department with 4 days of progressive myopia, dry mouth, anhidrosis and urinary hesitancy due to overuse of a new topical anticholinergic wipes, glycopyrronium tosylate (GT). In the United States medication misuse accounts for nearly 10% of pediatric emergency visits with 65% of these visits considered to be preventable [1]. Being familiar with new medications and their side effect profiles can prevent unnecessary or harmful interventions.

Elderly people, defined by age 65 years and older, made up 18.45% of the Swiss Population in 2018 and their number is projected to rise continuously. Data investigating specific characteristics of this patient subgroup, especially in the emergency setting, is scarce. ⋯ The number of elderly patients admitted to our ED is continuously rising. There was no difference in overall disease burden, number of medications and hospital length of stay between octogenarians and nonagenarians. We identified risk factors for mortality, long hospitalizations and need of placement in a nursing facility.

Aim of this study is to investigate effectiveness of the monocyte to HDL cholesterol ratio in patients diagnosed with pulmonary embolism for predicting intra-hospital mortality. ⋯ Use of predictors for mortality estimation in patients diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism is important for faster administration of treatment modalities. We think MHR values can be used as a strong predictor according to the hemogram parameters and biochemical results.
