Observational Study
Hypoxic hepatitis after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: incidence, determinants and prognosis.
Hypoxic hepatitis (HH) may complicate the course of resuscitated out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients admitted in intensive care unit (ICU). Aims of this study were to assess the prevalence of HH, and to describe the factors associated with HH occurrence and outcome. ⋯ HH is not a rare complication after OHCA. This complication is mainly triggered by the duration of resuscitation and is associated with increased ICU mortality.

Observational Study
Quantitative pupillometry and transcranial Doppler measurements in patients treated with hypothermia after cardiac arrest.
Predicting outcome after cardiac arrest (CA) is particularly difficult when therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is used. We investigated the performance of quantitative pupillometry and transcranial Doppler (TCD) in this context. ⋯ PLR measurements might be informative in the prediction of outcome of post-CA patients even under sedation and hypothermia.

Review Meta Analysis
Mechanical chest compression devices at in-hospital cardiac arrest: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To summarise the evidence in relation to the routine use of mechanical chest compression devices during resuscitation from in-hospital cardiac arrest. ⋯ Mechanical chest compression devices may improve patient outcome, when used at in-hospital cardiac arrest. However, the quality of current evidence is very low. There is a need for randomised trials to evaluate the effect of mechanical chest compression devices on survival for in-hospital cardiac arrest.
