Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
The Use of Dispatcher Assistance in Improving the Quality of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: A Randomised Controlled Trial.
The introduction of dispatcher assistance (DA) services has led to increased bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) participation rates. However, the extent to which DA improves CPR quality remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of DA in improving CPR quality among healthcare professionals and laypersons within a multi-ethnic Southeast Asian population. ⋯ DA should be provided to laypersons without valid CPR certification, as well as healthcare professionals. The identification of gaps in the current DA protocol highlights areas where specific changes can be made to improve CPR quality.

Review Meta Analysis
A systematic review and meta-analysis of the effect of dispatcher-assisted CPR on outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest in adults and children.
Dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DA-CPR) has been reported in individual studies to significantly increase the rate of bystander CPR and survival from cardiac arrest. ⋯ These results support the recommendation that dispatchers provide CPR instructions to callers for adults and children with suspected OHCA. Review registration: PROSPERO- CRD42018091427.

Review Meta Analysis
Advanced airway interventions for paediatric cardiac arrest: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess the use of advanced airway interventions (tracheal intubation (TI) or supraglottic airway (SGA) placement), compared with bag mask ventilation (BMV) alone, for resuscitation of children in cardiac arrest. ⋯ TI or SGA are not superior to BMV for resuscitation of children in cardiac arrest, but the overall certainty of evidence is low to very low. Well designed randomised efficacy trials are needed to address this important question.

Review Meta Analysis
Procalcitonin as a prognostic marker for outcomes in post-cardiac arrest patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study aimed to seek evidence for the usefulness of the procalcitonin as a prognostic blood biomarker for outcomes in post-cardiac arrest patients. ⋯ Overall, the findings suggested that an elevated procalcitonin level measured at 0-48 h of post-cardiac arrest syndrome was associated with poor outcomes.

Review Meta Analysis
Diagnostic performance of optic nerve sheath diameter for predicting neurologic outcome in post-cardiac arrest patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
We evaluated the diagnostic performance of optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) for prediction of neurologic outcome in post-cardiac arrest patients and relative prediction performance according to ONSD measurement modality. ⋯ ONSD may be useful for predicting neurologic outcomes in post-cardiac arrest patients. Measuring the ONSD specifically using ocular ultrasound, application in patients with cardiac-origin cardiac arrest, and using the Glasgow-Pittsburgh Cerebral Performance Categories for neurologic outcome evaluation are recommended for more accurately predicting neurologic outcomes.
