Multicenter StudyStructure, Process, and Outcome Data of AWHONN's Postpartum Hemorrhage Quality Improvement Project.
To describe the structures and processes implemented during the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Postpartum Hemorrhage (AWHONN PPH) Project. ⋯ None of the 58 hospitals were able to implement all of the structure and process changes before the end of the 18-month implementation phase. This suggests that an 18-month implementation phase may be too short.

Multicenter StudyParents' Use of Nonpharmacologic Methods to Manage Procedural Pain in Infants.
To describe parents' use of nonpharmacologic methods to manage infant procedural pain in the NICU and determine the demographic factors related to such use. ⋯ There is a clear need to extend parents' use of nonpharmacologic methods to manage their infants' procedural pain in the NICU. Because many methods were not considered as pain-relieving strategies, it is important to increase knowledge about the effectiveness of these interventions among parents and nurses.

Multicenter StudyBarriers and facilitators to implementing the Baby-Friendly hospital initiative in neonatal intensive care units.
To explore manager, educator, and clinical leader perceptions of barriers and facilitators to implementing Baby-Friendly practice in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). ⋯ Despite identifying numerous barriers, participants recognized the potential value of expanding the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) to the NICU setting. Recommendations include promoting BFHI as a facilitator of family-centered care, interdisciplinary staff education, increasing access to lactation consultants, and establishing a group of NICU champions dedicated to BFHI implementation.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyMaternal satisfaction with administering infant interventions in the neonatal intensive care unit.
To examine mothers' satisfaction with administering interventions for their preterm infants and with the helpfulness of the study nurse by comparing massage with auditory, tactile, visual, and vestibular stimulation (ATVV intervention), kangaroo care, and education about equipment needed at home and to explore whether mother and infant characteristics affected maternal satisfaction ratings. ⋯ Mothers were satisfied with interventions for their infants regardless of the intervention performed. Maternal satisfaction with the intervention was related to recruitment site, maternal demographic characteristics, and maternal psychological distress, especially at 2 months. Thus, nursing interventions that provide mothers with a role to play in the infant's care during hospitalization are particularly likely to be appreciated by mothers.
