To investigate the biomechanical effects of superior capsule reconstruction with subacromial allograft spacer on superior humeral head translation and subacromial contact pressure. ⋯ Superior capsule reconstruction with subacromial resurfacing using human dermal allograft reduces superior humeral head translation while increasing subacromial contact pressure in a cadaveric model.

Biomechanical Effect of Superior Capsule Reconstruction Using a 3-mm and 6-mm Thick Acellular Dermal Allograft in a Dynamic Shoulder Model.
To biomechanically compare the effect of superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) using a 3- and 6-mm thick acellular dermal allograft for the treatment of irreparable rotator cuff tears. ⋯ Graft thickness may affect the clinical success following SCR with commercially available dermal allografts. Using a thicker (>3 mm) graft was able to biomechanically better restore native glenohumeral joint properties.

Our primary aim of our study is to evaluate the prevalence of spin among abstracts in orthopaedic randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with nonsignificant primary endpoints. ⋯ Spin was found in 44.8% of the abstracts within our sample of orthopaedic RCTs. Nonsignificant primary data were often represented to seem significant, many orthopaedic RCTs did not indicate primary endpoints, and orthopaedic RCTs infrequently reported trial registration.
