ReviewThe wish to hasten death in patients with life-limiting conditions. A systematic overview.
A systematic review of the wish to hasten death among people with life-limiting conditions was published in 2011. Since then, other reviews and primary studies have been published that have added to knowledge regarding the conceptual definition, aetiology and assessment of the wish to hasten death. ⋯ This overview underscores the need for clinical strategies that can identify different manifestations of the wish to hasten death among people with life-limiting conditions.

Preparing Preclinical Medical Students for Routine Code Status Discussions: A Mixed-Methods Study.
Medical students are expected to gain competency in inquiring about patients' goals of care, per the Association of American Medical Colleges' Entrustable Professional Activities. While students may be part of teams that conduct routine code status discussions (CSDs), formal training in this skill prior to clinical clerkships is lacking. ⋯ A workshop to train medical students to conduct routine CSDs can be included as part of a preclinical medical education curriculum. Students reported that the workshop increased their confidence in conducting CSDs and demonstrated an increase in corresponding knowledge, preparing them to deliver person-centered care on their clerkships.

ReviewExpressive Arts Interventions to Improve Psychosocial Well-being in Caregivers: A Systematic Review.
Over 43 million caregivers provide care and support in the United States. Increased stress and burden may contribute to poor psychosocial well-being. Recently, there has been an emergence of art-based interventions to improve well-being among care receivers and caregivers. A synthesis of this literature evaluating expressive arts interventions (EAIs) with caregivers is needed. ⋯ Caregivers are essential to the care of people with medically complex and life-limiting conditions. EAIs hold the potential to improve psychosocial outcomes for caregivers, are used globally, and can be culturally tailored. Future research should examine intervention duration and intensity, measures to address additional dimensions of psychsocial well-being, and implementation in additional caregiver populations.

ReviewMuslims and End-of-Life Healthcare in Non-Muslim Majority Nations: A Systematic Literature Review.
As Muslim populations in non-Muslim majority nations grow and age, they will increasingly require culturally appropriate healthcare. Delivering such care requires understanding their experiences with, as well as preferences regarding, end-of-life healthcare. ⋯ There is scant research on Muslim patients' and caregivers' engagement with end-of-life healthcare in non-Muslim majority nations. Existing research documents knowledge gaps impeding both Muslim patient engagement with end-of-life care and the delivery of culturally appropriate healthcare.
