Randomized Controlled Trial
Carbetocin at elective Cesarean delivery: a randomized controlled trial to determine the effective dose.
The primary objective of our study was to determine the minimum intravenous dose of carbetocin required to produce adequate uterine contraction in 95% of women (effective dose [ED](95)) undergoing elective Cesarean delivery (CD). ⋯ In women at low risk for PPH undergoing elective CD, carbetocin doses of 80-120 μg are similarly effective. There is a high incidence of hypotension associated with carbetocin in these doses, and further studies with doses lower than 80 μg are warranted to assess the balance of efficacy and side effects. This trial was registered at www.clinicaltrials.gov (NCT01262742).

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Effectiveness and safety of the Levitan FPS Scope™ for tracheal intubation under general anesthesia with a simulated difficult airway.
Studies show that the Levitan FPS (first pass success) Scope™ (LFS) is analogous to a bougie in simulated difficult airways with comparable tracheal intubation success rates. In this study, the efficacy and safety of tracheal intubation with the LFS was compared with that of the Macintosh laryngoscope utilizing manual in-line stabilization (MILS) to simulate difficult airways. ⋯ The LFS in conjunction with the Macintosh laryngoscope does not improve the efficacy or safety of tracheal intubation in a simulated difficult airway.
