Prepregnancy Glucose Levels Within Normal Range and Its Impact on Obstetric Complications in Subsequent Pregnancy: A Population Cohort Study.
We sought to identify the influence of prepregnancy glucose levels on obstetric complications in subsequent pregnancy. ⋯ Higher prepregnancy glucose in normal range is associated with gestational diabetes and macrosomia.

Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of the Gout Impact Scale.
The Gout Impact Scale (GIS), part of the Gout Assessment Questionnaire 2.0, measures gout-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL). This study aimed to translate the GIS into Korean and validate the Korean version (K-GIS) using generic HRQOL measures. ⋯ The K-GIS is a reliable and valid HRQOL measure for patients with gout. Higher K-GIS scores were associated with clinical characteristics leading to unfavorable outcomes, which were not demonstrated by the HAQ and EQ-5D.

Observational StudyAssociation Between Changes in Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) Parameter and the Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Acute Heart Failure.
Volume overload is associated not only with clinical manifestations but also with poor outcomes of heart failure (HF). However, there is an unmet need for effective methods for serial monitoring of volume status during HF hospitalization. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic implication of serial measurement of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) in patients hospitalized with acute HF. ⋯ BIA is a noninvasive and effective method to evaluate the volume status during the hospitalization of HF patients. The high and positive value of ΔECW/TBW during hospitalization was associated with poor outcomes in patients with HF.

Developing Operational Definitions Related to Helicobacter pylori Eradication Therapy.
The lack of well-established operational definitions is a major limitation of Helicobacter pylori eradication studies that use secondary databases. We aimed to develop and validate operational definitions related to H. pylori eradication therapy. ⋯ We developed and validated operational definitions related to H. pylori eradication therapy. These definitions will help researchers perform various H. pylori eradication-related studies using secondary databases.

Living liver donors (LLDs) are screened for transmissible diseases including cancer. We investigated the actual cancer incidence of LLDs compared with a matched healthy control group from the general Korean population using data from the Korean National Health Insurance Services (NHIS). A total of 12,372 LLDs who donated a liver graft between 2002 and 2018 were registered in the Korean Network for Organ Sharing. ⋯ Compared to the healthy control group, the incidence rate ratio of liver and thyroid cancer in the LLD group were significantly higher at 18.30 and 1.39, respectively. The incidences of 11 other specified cancers were not different between the two groups. The present study suggests that LLD after donor hepatectomy may require medical surveillance, especially for liver cancer.
