Reference intervals for thyroid-stimulating hormone and thyroid hormones using the access TSH 3rd IS method in China.
To calculate the reference intervals for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid hormones using the Access TSH 3rd IS method and evaluate the differences between age and genders in Chinese populations. ⋯ The present study provided a valid basis for the reference intervals for TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, and TT3 in Chinese populations. In addition, this present study indicated that age and gender should be considered in diagnostic evaluation of thyroid diseases.

The variation degree of coagulation function is not responsible for extra risk of hemorrhage in gestational diabetes mellitus.
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is characterized as glucose intolerance of any degree that begins or first diagnosed during pregnancy. It possesses a higher risk of haemorrhage, which may be caused by the coagulation dysfunction. However, there has been no study focus on how coagulation state changes in the progress of GDM pregnancy. Our study is aimed to assess the association of coagulation function and haemorrhage in GDM. ⋯ The GDM group was hypercoagulable compared with the NGT group rather than hypocoagulable as predicted, but still within the normal range. Therefore, our findings demonstrate that the variation degree of coagulation function is not responsible for extra risk of hemorrhage in GDM, and prevention of hemorrhage should focus on other causes.

The predictive value of microRNA-21 for sepsis risk and its correlation with disease severity, systemic inflammation, and 28-day mortality in sepsis patients.
This study aimed to investigate the value of microRNA (miR)-21 for predicting sepsis risk and its correlation with inflammation, disease severity as well as 28-day mortality in sepsis patients. ⋯ MiR-21 might serve as a potential biomarker for the development and progression of sepsis, while not for prognosis prediction in sepsis patients.

LncRNA ANRIL/miR-125a axis exhibits potential as a biomarker for disease exacerbation, severity, and inflammation in bronchial asthma.
This study aimed to explore the correlation of lncRNA ANRIL/miR-125a axis with disease risk, severity, and inflammatory cytokines of bronchial asthma. ⋯ LncRNA ANRIL/miR-125a is potentially indicative of disease exacerbation, exacerbation severity, and inflammation for bronchial asthma, while these findings are preliminary and need further confirmation.
