CircRNAs as promising biomarker in diagnosis of breast cancer: An updated meta-analysis.
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been identified to be involved in onset and progression of multiple malignant tumors. The present study aimed to systematically evaluate the diagnostic values of circRNAs in breast cancer. ⋯ CircRNAs exhibited a high diagnostic value for breast cancer and may function as potential diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer.

Diagnostic performance of the Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 antigen assay in the clinical routine of a tertiary care hospital: Preliminary results from a single-center evaluation.
This report describes a manufacturer-independent evaluation of the diagnostic accuracy of the Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 antigen assay from Roche Diagnostics in a tertiary care setting. ⋯ The Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 antigen assay has a low sensitivity for detecting SARS-CoV-2 from nasopharyngeal swabs. Hence, we decided to not use this assay in the clinical routine of our hospital.

JNK pathway-associated phosphatase associates with rheumatoid arthritis risk, disease activity, and its longitudinal elevation relates to etanercept treatment response.
This study aimed to investigate the relationship of serum JNK pathway-associated phosphatase (JKAP) expression with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) risk and clinical features, also to explore the longitudinal change of JKAP during etanercept treatment and its relationship with etanercept treatment response in RA patients. ⋯ Circulating JKAP links with decreased RA risk and mild disease activity, whose longitudinal elevation positively relates to etanercept treatment response.

Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies are associated with neutrophil extracellular trap formation in rheumatoid arthritis.
We evaluated the associations of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs) and serological and cytological levels of neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. ⋯ Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies may enhance NET formation and contribute to inflammation development in RA by stimulating NET formation, such as by subsequent activation of FLS cells by NETs.

Microglial Annexin A3 promoted the development of melanoma via activation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α/vascular endothelial growth factor signaling pathway.
Melanoma, a relatively common malignancy, has become one of the tumors with the fastest rising incidence in recent years. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Microglial Annexin A3 (ANXA3) on melanoma. ⋯ In conclusion, our results indicated that ANXA3 promoted cell growth and migration of melanoma via activation of HIF-1α/VEGF signaling pathway.
