Multicenter Study Comparative Study Clinical TrialPsychometric properties of the Stroke and Aphasia Quality of Life Scale (SAQOL-39) in a generic stroke population.
We previously developed the Stroke and Aphasia Quality of Life scale (SAQOL-39) and tested it with people with chronic aphasia. A scale allowing comparisons of quality of life between people with versus without aphasia post-stroke would be of value to clinicians. ⋯ The SAQOL-39g demonstrated good reliability, validity and responsiveness to change. It can be used to evaluate quality of life in people with and without aphasia post stroke.

Multicenter StudyCultural adaptation and validation of the Persian version of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) outcome measure.
To translate and validate the Persian version of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) outcome measure (Persian DASH). ⋯ The Persian DASH is a reliable and valid instrument to measure functional status in Persian-speaking patients with upper extremity disorders in Iran. It is simple and easy to use and now can be applied in clinical settings and future outcome studies in Iran and other Persian-speaking communities.

Multicenter StudyThe role of fear-avoidance beliefs in patients with neck pain: relationships with current and future disability and work capacity.
To investigate the relationship between fear-avoidance beliefs and future disability and work capacity in patients with neck pain. ⋯ The fear-avoidance beliefs factor is an important biopsychosocial variable in predicting future disability level and return to complete work capacity in patients with neck pain.

Multicenter StudySensitivity, specificity and predictive value of the clinical trunk muscle endurance tests in low back pain.
To describe the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and diagnostic accuracy of five clinical tests used to measure trunk muscle endurance in low back pain. ⋯ It seems that the prone double straight-leg raise test has more sensitivity, specificity and predictive value in low back pain than other tests and could be used as a useful clinical method for testing the spinal muscle endurance to predict the probability of the occurrence of low back pain.

Multicenter StudyThe usability of six physical performance tasks in a rehabilitation population with chronic low back pain.
To examine the influence of task experience on the difference between test and retest and to assess test-retest reliability and limits of agreement of six performance tasks in chronic low back pain patients. These measures will be used to define the clinical usability. ⋯ Task experience did not significantly influence test-retest differences. All tasks showed sufficient test-retest reliability. Based on the natural variability of the tasks, the 5-min walking and stair-climbing task, and to a lesser degree the 50-ft (15 m) walking, sit-to-stand and loaded forward reach, seem clinically useful. There are major concerns about the usability of the PILE.
