Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Prevention of pain on injection of rocuronium: a comparison of lidocaine with different doses of parecoxib.
To compare the efficacy of pretreatment with parecoxib and lidocaine to prevent rocuronium injection pain. ⋯ Pretreatment with parecoxib and lidocaine was effective in reducing the frequency and severity of pain with rocuronium injection whereas pretreatment with parecoxib 40 mg and lidocaine 40 mg were the most effective treatments.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
The effect of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia versus general anesthesia on the recovery time of intestinal function in young infants undergoing intestinal surgery: a randomized, prospective, controlled trial.
To assess the rate of restoration of gastrointestinal (GI) function following combined spinal-epidural (CSE) anesthesia compared with general anesthesia in young infants undergoing elective intestinal surgery. ⋯ Combined spinal-epidural anesthesia leads to faster restoration of GI function while reducing adverse events in infants who require elective intestinal surgery.

Intraoperative intravenous lidocaine reduces hospital length of stay following open gastrectomy for stomach cancer in men.
To evaluate whether intraoperative low-dose lidocaine infusion decreases postoperative analgesic consumption, ileus, and duration of hospital stay. ⋯ Intraoperative IV low-dose lidocaine infusion decreased opioid consumption and hospital LOS after gastrectomy.
