Accelerated, Pulsed Collagen Cross-Linking versus the Dresden Protocol in Keratoconus: A Case Series.
The aim of our study was to compare the depth of the demarcation line developing in the cornea after the standard Dresden protocol versus the accelerated, pulsed, epithelium-off corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL). ⋯ The demarcation line depth was not statistically significantly different between the two protocols. The significance of the demarcation line depth has not been fully clarified in the literature. Our results support the contention that these two techniques may have similar structural outcomes and ef-ficacies in the treatment of keratoconus.

Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D Levels in Patients with Autoimmune Hypothyroidism and Their Correlation with Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies.
This study was designed to investigate the vitamin D (vit-D) and vitamin B12 (vit-B12) levels and their correlation with anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) antibodies in patients with autoimmune hypothyroidism. ⋯ In patients with autoimmune hypothyroidism, vit-D and vit-B12 deficiency should be investigated at the time of diagnosis and periodically on follow-ups.

This study aims to present the diagnostic characteristics of multimodal intraoperative monitoring (IOM) in spinal deformity surgery and to define and categorise the neuromonitoring events, as well as propose an algorithm of action. ⋯ Multimodal IOM is highly sensitive and specific for spinal cord injury. This technique is reliable for the assessment of the condition of the spinal cord during major deformity surgery. We propose an algorithm of intraoperative action to allow close cooperation between the surgical, anaesthetic, and neurophysiology teams and to prevent neurological deficits.

Meta Analysis
Meta-Analysis of the Diagnostic Accuracy of Primary Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas by 18F-FDG-PET.
The goal of this meta-analysis was to assess the use of FDG-PET in the diagnosis of primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas. ⋯ Our findings indicate FDG-PET can efficiently differentiate between benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors. We also found that FDG-PET improves accuracy in diagnosing soft tissue sarcomas when combined with CT.
