Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Efficacy and safety of intravenous bevacizumab on severe bleeding associated with hemorrhagic hereditary telangiectasia: A national, randomized multicenter trial.
Bevacizumab-a humanized monoclonal antibody-has been widely used to treat patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), but no randomized trial has yet been conducted. ⋯ Though the present trial was underpowered, patients with HHT receiving bevacizumab required numerically fewer red blood cell transfusions than those receiving placebo, particularly those with high exposure.

Prevalence and 24-month recovery of olfactory dysfunction in COVID-19 patients: A multicenter prospective study.
To investigate the prevalence and recovery of olfactory dysfunction (OD) in COVID-19 patients 24 months after the infection. ⋯ Two years post-COVID-19, 29.8% of patients reported persistent OD, but only 2.9% had abnormal identification psychophysical evaluations.

Randomized clinical trial of BCG vaccine in patients with convalescent COVID-19: Clinical evolution, adverse events, and humoral immune response.
The Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine may confer cross-protection against viral diseases in adults. This study evaluated BCG vaccine cross-protection in adults with convalescent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ⋯ No severely ill patients were included.

Patients of 75 years and over with ANCA-associated vasculitis have a lower relapse risk than younger patients: A multicentre cohort study.
Little is known about antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) in older patients. We aim to study relapse risk of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) or microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) in patients diagnosed after 75 years and compare it with those of patients aged 65-75 years. ⋯ AAV patients ≥75 years have a lower relapse risk than patients aged 65-75 years despite a lower probability of having received maintenance therapy with a combination of glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants, but they still benefit from such treatment regimen.

Prevalence and severity of coronary artery disease linked to prognosis in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis patients: A multi-centre cohort study.
(i) To estimate the prevalence and severity of coronary artery disease and (ii) to assess the risk of cardiovascular events and mortality, in patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in a large-scale cohort of patients referred to coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA). ⋯ In this population, both psoriasis and PsA were associated with an increased prevalence of coronary calcification. Psoriasis patients also showed an increased prevalence of severe calcification. Psoriasis patients were at increased risk for cardiovascular events and death, however not after adjusting for the effect of other predictors.
