The differences in sporting environments between open and closed skill sports impose unique demands on athletes' cognitive and motor capabilities. Our study aims to investigate and compare cognitive function and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) among individuals involved in different sports, namely basketball, swimming, and a sedentary non-sports group. ⋯ The results of the study indicate that sports training, regardless of sport type, positively impacts overall cognitive function. However, no significant differences were observed in cognitive task performance and HRV measures between open and closed skill sport players. These findings suggest that sports can enhance cognitive functions, regardless of the sport played.

To improve diagnostic accuracy of pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma (PMEC) through multi-detector computed tomography (MSCT) findings. ⋯ MSCT images of PMEC patients demonstrated some characteristic findings, which would help improve the diagnostic accuracy of the disease.

To investigate the risk factors for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in children with osteomyelitis and provide diagnostic and treatment strategies for the prevention, early detection and treatment of DVT. ⋯ Admission to ICU, sepsis, higher D-dimer, higher body temperature during hospitalization, and MRSA are risk factors for thrombosis. MRSA is the independent risk factor for DVT. For patients with related risk factors, timely ultrasound examination of the infected site should be considered to achieve early detection and treatment.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that co-occurs with gut microbiota dysbiosis; however, its etiology remains unclear. MicroRNA (miRNA)-microbiome interactions play an essential role in host health and disease. ⋯ Our data reveal the relationships between multi-omic features during UC and suggest that targeting specific miRNAs may provide new avenues for the development of effective miRNA-based therapeutics.

Sonchus arvensis L. is traditional Chinese food and medicine. We investigated protective effects of flavones from Sonchus arvensis L. (SAF) on colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in mice by regulating gut microbiota (GM). ⋯ The SAF protective effect against colitis induced by DSS in mice may have a connection with GM diversity.
