Benzodiazepine-positive overdoses increased between 2019 and 2021 in Tennessee. We sought to determine the changes in the number and characteristics of prescription and illicit benzodiazepine-positive fatal drug overdoses during this period. ⋯ This analysis can inform local and regional public health workers to implement focused prevention and intervention efforts for people with co-occurring mental health conditions and substance use disorders to curb overdose epidemics among persons using benzodiazepines in Tennessee. Public health campaigns should focus on educating people on appropriate prescription medication use and the dangers of obtaining substances illicitly. Given the high proportion of opioids in this population, further education also is needed on the dangers of polysubstance drug use. The differences between prescription and illicit benzodiazepine-positive fatal overdoses indicate the need to develop substance-specific prevention and treatment strategies.

Cinnamomi ramulus (C. ramulus) is frequently employed in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS). However, the primary constituents, drug targets, and mechanisms of action remain unidentified. ⋯ This study provides insights into the effective compounds, core targets, and potential mechanisms of action of C. ramulus in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis. These findings establish a solid groundwork for future fundamental research in this field.

The present study aims to investigate the clinical and histopathological features of peritoneal endometriosis (PEM) and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). ⋯ Although different morphological appearance of PEM is a degenerative process, some active brown lesions of PEM have invasive effects during the process and may further develop into DIE. PEM and DIE may be different developmental stages of the same disease.

To investigate the differences in the viscoelastic properties between normal trapezius muscles and those in patients with trapezius myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) using real-time shear-wave elastography (SWE). ⋯ SWE can quantitatively evaluate stiffness of trapezius muscles in patients with trapezius MPS. The stiffness of both affected and non-affected trapezius muscles increased in patients with trapezius MPS, and the degree of increase positively correlated with the time of cervical forward leaning.

To compare the efficacy and side effects of salvage chemotherapy between etoposide, methylprednisolone, cytarabine and cisplatin (ESHAP) and ifosfamide, carboplatin and etoposide plus dexamethasone (DICE) for relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). ⋯ Efficacy between ESHAP and DICE regimens as salvage chemotherapy for relapsed or refractory DLBCL was not significantly different in terms of two-year PFS, two-year OS and ORR. DICE regimen had less renal AE than ESHAP.
