Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system. Despite a large number of studies, the current prognosis of ALS is still not ideal. This article briefly describes the clinical features including epidemiology, genetic structure and clinical manifestations, as well as the progress of new diagnostic criteria and treatment of ALS. Meanwhile, we also discussed further both developments and improvements to enhance understanding and accelerating the introduction of the effective treatments of ALS.

Vaccines against diseases such as herpes zoster, pneumococcus and influenza are broadly recommended for older adults, but uptake is frequently low. ⋯ This review discusses results from attempts to expand and simplify the adult vaccination process, potentially allowing vaccination to be initiated by the recipient and completed in a single visit. These studies suggest that expanding adult vaccination access to new providers and/or new settings will require development of an integrated plan for preventive healthcare, covering areas such as setting target coverage rates, financial support, and development of immunization information systems accessible to all vaccination providers to maintain accurate immunization records and support interventions such as reminders.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that is marked by persistent hyperglycemia due to inadequate insulin secretion or insulin resistance. Its prevalence is increasing yearly. ⋯ Photobiomodulation (PBM), which utilizes low levels of red or near-infrared laser to irradiate cells and tissues, has been shown to be efficacious for a wide range of organ damage. In this study, we focus on the application of PBM in diabetes and its complications and mechanisms, as well as the advantages, disadvantages with the aim of developing new ideas for the application of PBM.

A thorough and critical summary of the data supporting molecular methods for illnesses linked to cancer is required. ⋯ After conducting an in-depth study on the molecular methods in cancer genetics, it is evident that these cutting-edge technologies have revolutionized the field of oncology, providing researchers and clinicians with powerful tools to unravel the complexities of cancer at the genetic level. The integration of molecular methods techniques has not only enhanced our understanding of cancer etiology, progression, and treatment response but has also opened new avenues for personalized medicine and targeted therapies, leading to improved patient outcomes.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are identified as a novel family of endogenous RNA molecules through 'back-splicing' and covalently linked at the 5' and 3' ends. Emerging researches have demonstrated circRNAs are stable and abundant in exosomes called exosomal circRNAs (exo-circRNA). ⋯ We summarize the update of digestive malignancies associated exo-circRNAs in biogenesis, biological functions, molecular mechanisms, clinical implications, potential applications and experimental technique in order to effectively promote transformation and application in the future.
