Real-world data on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) are scarce and few studies have analysed the generic HRQoL. ⋯ PPP had a substantial negative impact on patients' generic and dermatology-specific HRQoL. Patients with PPP were worse off in terms of generic HRQoL compared with patients with plaque psoriasis when controlling for the impact of potential confounders.

This study outlines asthma burden trends across age, sex, regions and risk factors in 'Belt and Road' (B&R) countries from 1990 to 2019 using the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 data. Incidence, mortality, prevalence, years lived with disability (YLDs), disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and risk factors for asthma were measured. India, China and Indonesia bore the heaviest burden in 2019. ⋯ High body mass index (BMI) led to increased YLDs in East, Central and Southeast Asia; North Africa; and the Middle East. Conclusively, asthma burden varies significantly by country. Tailoring control efforts to specific regions, sex and high BMI could enhance asthma management.

This study intended to evaluate the medium-term effectiveness of a community-based medical education (CBME) program and to determine the program's influence on the application rates of regional-quota students seeking to become residents in Tamba, Japan. ⋯ There was a statistically significant application rate for residency programs among medical students who participated in the CBME program in their senior years compared with those who did not. This is the first study to confirm the medium-term effects of CBME after several years in short-term CBME programs of three days and two nights.

Fibrotic metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a condition at risk of progressing to advanced liver disease. We examined whether an innovative exhaled nitric oxide (eNO) breath test (BT) can accurately diagnose fibrotic MASH without requiring blood tests. ⋯ The eNO-BT is a promising simple test for non-invasively identifying fibrotic MASH, and its performance is further improved by adding LSM measurement.

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) presents a severe respiratory challenge with a poor prognosis due to the lack of reliable biomarkers. Recent evidence suggests that Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress (ERS) may be associated with IPF pathogenesis. This study focuses on uncovering ERS-associated biomarkers for IPF. ⋯ This study identifies ERS-related biomarkers in IPF, highlighting SPP1 and M2 macrophages. The resulting diagnostic and prognostic models offer strong predictive capabilities, unveiling new therapeutic avenues.
