Review Meta Analysis
The effects of treatment via telemedicine interventions for patients with depression on depressive symptoms and quality of life: a systematic review and meta-ranalysis.
Aim: The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to identify, evaluate, and synthesize the evidence from studies that have investigated the treatment effect via telemedicine interventions on depressive symptoms, quality of life, and work and social functioning in patients with depression. Methods: Six electronic databases (MEDLINE [1916-2021], PubMED [1950-2021], PsycINFO [1971-2021], Scopus [2004-2021], Embase [1972-2021], and CINAHL [1937-2021]) were systematically searched in March 2021. Reference lists of identified articles were hand searched. ⋯ Conclusion: This study showed the positive effects of treatment via telemedicine interventions on depressive symptoms and quality of life in patients with depression and supported the idea for clinical practice to establish a well-organized telepsychiatry system. KEY MESSAGESTelemedicine is effective at reducing symptoms of depression. Telemedicine can improve quality of life in persons with depression.

We performed an umbrella meta-analysis to explore the factors that influence the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. ⋯ The results of this umbrella meta-analysis first supported pre-existing understandings of the relationship between beneficial and adverse factors with the efficacy of ICI therapy. In addition, the overexpression of PD-L1 may adversely affect patients.

The association between breast cancer and consumption of dairy products: a systematic review.
Among the world, the most frequently discovered and fatal cancer in women is breast cancer (BC). From the perspective of public health, estimating the BC risk linked to dairy intake may aid in comprehensive management. In epidemiological research data on the association between eating dairy foods and the risk of BC are conflicting. Therefore, we sought to assess the link between dairy food consumption and the development of BC. ⋯ Overall, dairy consumption was inversely associated with the risk of developing breast cancer. Future studies will help elucidate the role of dairy products in human health, and their use within a balanced diet should be considered.KEY MESSAGESThe effect of different types of dairy products, and possible dose-response relationships on BC risk remains unknown.Estimating BC risk associated with dairy consumption may help to take the decision-making of physicians and public health policy in developing preventive strategies to reduce its occurrence. This systematic review was conducted to assess dairy consumption and BC risk.Overall, inverse associations were found when looking at dairy consumption and BC risk.

To conduct a meta-analysis and systematic review on the association between anticholinergic medication uses and the risk of pneumonia in elderly adults. ⋯ The risk of pneumonia is increased in elderly adults with anticholinergic medication, especially with higher-potency anticholinergic drugs and in the initiation phase of anticholinergic medication. Clinicians should monitor their use in older patients carefully, especially when the pneumonia-related signs and symptoms are identified.

Associations between weather conditions and osteoarthritis pain: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Although there is an assertion that weather conditions affect osteoarthritis (OA) pain, the results from clinical studies remain inconsistent. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the association between weather conditions and OA pain. ⋯ In this study, weather factors in general were significantly associated with OA pain. It may provide useful references for the daily health management of OA. More studies designed with the consistent meteorological condition are warranted to validate the findings.KEY MESSAGEMany people with osteoarthritis think their joint pain is affected by the weather, while the association between OA pain and weather conditions is still unclear. This is a systematic review and meta-analysis of 14 observational studies for the association between weather conditions and OA pain.Weather conditions appear to be associated with OA pain. Barometric pressure and relative humidity were positively correlated to OA pain intensity, while temperature was negatively correlated to OA pain.
