This study aimed to evaluate test-retest reliability and convergent validity of the Korean Infant Sensory Profile 2 (K-ISP2) and explore whether the sensory processing of infants differs according to age, gender, and culture. ⋯ This study provides reliability and validity evidence of the K-ISP2. Normative data of K-ISP2 total score can be established regardless of age or gender. The ISP2 has showed similar psychometric properties for populations of both Korea and the United States.KEY MESSAGESSensory processing is a fundamental component for adaptive responses to environment and begins to develop before birth. The Korean Infant Sensory Profile 2 (K-ISP2) can be used to assess sensory processing patterns of Korean infants, with evidence of reliability and validity.Total scores of the K-ISP2 can be interpreted with one normative data set regardless of age and gender.

Chronic diseases often accumulate with musculoskeletal (MSK) pain. However, less evidence is available on idiosyncratic patterns of chronic diseases and their relationships with the severity of MSK pain in general MSK pain populations. ⋯ Distinct patterns of chronic disease accumulation can be identified in the general MSK pain population. It seems that mental and metabolic health are at interplay with severe MSK pain. These findings suggest a potential need to screen for psychiatric and metabolic entities of health when treating working-aged people with MSK pain.Key messagesThis large study on middle-aged people with musculoskeletal pain aimed to examine the idiosyncratic patterns of chronic diseases and their relationships with the severity of musculoskeletal pain. Latent class cluster analysis identified three chronic disease clusters: Psychiatric, Metabolic, and Relatively Healthy. People with accumulated mental (Psychiatric cluster) or metabolic diseases (Metabolic cluster) experienced more severe pain than people who were relatively healthy (Relatively Healthy cluster). These findings suggest a potential need to screen for psychiatric and metabolic entities of health when treating working-aged people with MSK pain.

To investigate the prevalence and related influencing factors of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) in a pre-diabetes (PreDM) population. ⋯ The prevalence of SCH in the PreDM population not considering the known physiological increase in age related TSH was relatively high and was significant in female and the IFG population. However, the effect of age on these findings needs to attract more attention.

The aim of this study is to assess the outcomes of different induction therapies among mild to moderate immunological risk kidney transplants in the era tacrolimus and mycophenolate-derivate based maintenance. ⋯ This study showed no significant difference in acute rejection episodes or graft survival when using thymoglobulin or basiliximab in mild to moderate immunological risk living donor KTRs, maintained on tacrolimus and mycophenolate-based immunosuppressive regimen.

Sleep disturbance and fatigue are prevalent in nurses. Little is known about the characteristics of shift work nurses' sleep-wake features and their subsequent impact on work performance. The study aimed to describe the characteristics of the sleep-wake index, reaction time, saliva cortisol level, and fatigue severity among female shift work nurses. ⋯ Female nurses experienced fatigue and desynchronized CAR, especially nurses on a 12-hour shift. The CAR-friendly shift work schedule is needed to minimize the health and safety impacts of circadian misalignment for nurses.Key messagesThis is the first use of consecutive 7-day actigraphy data to explore the link between sleep disturbances as a stressor to CAR, salivary cortisol, and reaction time among clinical nurses.CAR may be a helpful indicator for overworked nurses, and it can serve as a modifiable target for interventions to enhance nurses' well-being.
