Meta AnalysisEffect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on locally advanced upper tract urothelial carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for the management of upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) remains controversial. The aim of present study was to evaluate the contemporary role of NAC for patients with locally advanced UTUC through systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature. ⋯ NAC treatment before radical nephroureterectomy might provide better survival outcomes in patients with locally advanced UTUC. Prospective randomized studies are needed to confirm the benefits of NAC in locally advanced UTUC patients.

Review Meta AnalysisHormone replacement therapy after prophylactic risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy and breast cancer risk in BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers: A meta-analysis.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been tested in women with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations who underwent risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO), but its effect on breast cancer (BC) risk has never been appraised using meta-analysis comparison. We performed the first meta-analysis aimed to clarify whether HRT after RRSO could negatively impact on BC risk in women carriers of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. ⋯ HRT use after RRSO in BRCA 1 and BRCA2 mutation carries does not affect BC risk. Comparison of the different HRT types suggests that estrogen alone should be related to lowest BC risk.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparison of whole body magnetic resonance imaging (WBMRI) to whole body computed tomography (WBCT) or 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/CT (18F-FDG PET/CT) in patients with myeloma: Systematic review of diagnostic performance.
To undertake a systematic review to determine the diagnostic performance of whole body MRI (WBMRI) including diffusion weighted sequences (DWI) compared to whole body computed tomography (WBCT) or 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/CT (18F-FDG PET/CT) in patients with myeloma. ⋯ Studies were heterogeneous, the majority lacking an independent reference standard. Future prospective trials should address these limitations and assess the impact of WBMRI on management.

Review Meta AnalysisNot all immune-checkpoint inhibitors are created equal: Meta-analysis and systematic review of immune-related adverse events in cancer trials.
Targeting immune checkpoints is a novel approach in cancer therapy. This strategy may trigger immune related adverse events (irAE). We hypothesize that the incidence of irAE will be greater in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) targeting only immune cells compared to those that also target tumor cells (PD-L1). In addition, we compared the specific irAE profile and overall response rate (ORR) for each ICI by target(s). ⋯ Our systematic review supported our mechanistic-driven hypothesis. We encourage investigators to report the incidence of irAE in future ICI combination trials.

Review Meta AnalysisEfficacy and safety of olanzapine for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Olanzapine is an anti-psychotic drug that has been used for preventing and treating Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV). This study aimed to systematically review and meta-analyze the efficacy and safety of olanzapine for prophylaxis and treatment of CINV. ⋯ Olanzapine is effective and safe at reducing during the delayed and overall phase of the CINV prevention. Other regimens might be added, in cases of CINV during the acute phase of CINV.
