Utility of positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging in the evaluation of sarcomas: A systematic review.
Sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of malignant tumours with variable clinical outcomes. Their presence in multiple body locations represents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is an imaging tool that provides semiquantitative measurements of radiotracer concentration in tissue, such as SUVmax (standardised uptake value) and is increasingly used in clinical practice. This systematic review aims to evaluate the utility of PET/CT in sarcoma grading and prognostication, evaluation of treatment response, staging and restaging. ⋯ Overall, higher quality evidence demonstrated PET/CT to be an important contributor towards sarcoma grading, prognostication and evaluation of treatment response. Larger prospective trials will be helpful to further establish the clinical value of PET/CT in sarcoma staging and restaging.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparative efficacy and safety of immunotherapies targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway for previously treated advanced non-small cell lung cancer: A Bayesian network meta-analysis.
Two PD-1 (pembrolizumab, nivolumab) and one PD-L1(atezolizumab) inhibitors are approved for previously treated advanced non-small cell lung cancer but have not been compared in head-to-head trials. ⋯ While pembrolizumab and nivolumab prevailed in rank in OS and ORR benefit, patient characteristics, safety and tolerance should be considered in treatment decision-making.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudySystematic review of published literature on oxaliplatin and mitomycin C as chemotherapeutic agents for hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in patients with peritoneal metastases from colorectal cancer.
The role of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with oxaliplatin in addition to cytoreductive surgery (CRS) has recently been questioned in peritoneal metastases of colorectal cancer. Whether this applies to all published CRS/HIPEC regimens is unclear. ⋯ Published cohorts on oxaliplatin-based CRS/HIPEC differed essentially from MMC-based procedures, especially considering the application of oxaliplatin-containing neo-adjuvant systemic therapy and shorter exposure time to intraperitoneal chemotherapy in oxaliplatin studies. No meaningful comparison could be made regarding DFS and OS.

Comparative StudySecond-line cabozantinib versus nivolumab in advanced renal cell carcinoma: Systematic review and indirect treatment comparison.
Nivolumab and cabozantinib, two new treatment options for previously-treated advanced/metastatic renal cell carcinoma (aRCC), have recently been approved. ⋯ The field of aRCC treatments is evolving rapidly, creating opportunities for individualized treatments and challenges for clinicians to keep up with the evidence. In lieu of availability of direct comparisons of all options, advanced modeling results presented herein can help to inform and improve personalized treatments.

Review Practice GuidelineMultidisciplinary expert opinion on the treatment consensus for patients with EGFR mutated NSCLC with brain metastases.
The presence of an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation is associated with higher incidence of brain metastases in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); however, patients with synchronous brain metastases at diagnosis have generally been excluded from clinical trials. As there is limited clinical evidence for managing this patient population, a multidisciplinary group of Spanish medical and radiation oncologists, and neuro-oncologist with expertise treating brain metastases in lung cancer patients met with the aim of reaching and developing an expert opinion consensus on the management of patients with EGFR mutated NSCLC with brain metastases. This consensus contains 26 recommendations and 20 conclusion statements across 21 questions in 7 areas, as well as a first-line treatment algorithm.
