Multicenter StudyAnaesthesia praCtice for Caesarean dElivery Snapshot Study (ACCESS): Protocol and baseline characteristics of registered centres.
Specific guidelines to manage caesarean delivery anaesthesia are lacking. A European multicentre study, ACCESS investigates caesarean delivery anaesthesia management in European centres. In order to identify ACCESS participating centres, a registration survey was created. ⋯ The ACCESS registration survey revealed variability in volume and CD practice as well as training-levels and staffing among European countries. The ACCESS study (https://www.access-study.org/) aims to generate practice data to guide CD anaesthetic management strategies.

Multicenter StudyEmpirical carbapenems or piperacillin/tazobactam for infections in intensive care: An international retrospective cohort study.
Critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICU) are frequently administered broad-spectrum antibiotics (e.g., carbapenems or piperacillin/tazobactam) for suspected or confirmed infections. This retrospective cohort study aimed to describe the use of carbapenems and piperacillin/tazobactam in two international, prospectively collected datasets. ⋯ In this post hoc analysis of ICU patients with infections, we found widespread initial use of carbapenems and piperacillin/tazobactam in international ICUs, with the latter being more frequently used. Randomized clinical trials are needed to assess if the observed variations in outcomes may be drug-related effects or due to confounders.

Multicenter StudyAssociation of perioperative transfusion of fresh frozen plasma and outcomes after cardiac surgery.
Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) transfusion is used to manage coagulopathy and bleeding in cardiac surgery patients despite uncertainty about its safety and effectiveness. ⋯ In a multicentre, propensity score matched analysis, perioperative FFP transfusion was associated with increased 30-day mortality and had variable associations with secondary clinical outcomes.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyFactors associated with fever after cardiac arrest: A post-hoc analysis of the FINNRESUSCI study.
Fever after cardiac arrest may impact outcome. We aimed to assess the incidence of fever in post-cardiac arrest patients, factors predicting fever and its association with functional outcome in patients treated without targeted temperature management (TTM). ⋯ Half of OHCA patients not treated with TTM developed fever. We found no association between fever and outcome.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyTransthoracic impedance variability to assess quality of chest compression in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Chest compression is a lifesaving intervention in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), but the optimal metrics to assess its quality have yet to be identified. The objective of this study was to investigate whether a new parameter, that is, the variability of the chest compression-generated transthoracic impedance (TTI), namely ImpCC , which measures the consistency of the chest compression maneuver, relates to resuscitation outcome. ⋯ In this population, consistency of chest compression maneuver, measured by variability in TTI, was an independent predictor of defibrillation outcome. ImpCC may be a useful novel metrics for improving quality of care in OHCA.
