Multicenter StudyFluid management of emergency department patients with sepsis-A survey of fluid resuscitation practices.
Fluid administration and resuscitation of patients with sepsis admitted through emergency departments (ED) remains a challenge, and evidence is sparse especially in sepsis patients without shock. We aimed to investigate emergency medicine physicians' and nurses' perceptions, self-reported decision-making and daily behavior, and challenges in fluid administration of ED sepsis patients. ⋯ Fluid administration is regarded as an important but challenging aspect of sepsis management. Responses to scenarios revealed variability in fluid volumes. Blood pressure was the most used trigger. ED nurses and physicians request evidence-based guidelines to improve fluid administration.

Multicenter StudyWho gets the ventilator? A multicentre survey of intensivists' opinions of triage during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a shortage of intensive care resources. Intensivists' opinion of triage and ventilator allocation during the COVID-19 pandemic is not well described. ⋯ Intensivists appeared to prioritise younger patients for ventilator allocation. The tendency to consult colleagues about triage decreased with age and male gender. Many found such tasks to be not purely medical and that authorities should assume responsibility for triage during resource scarcity.

Multicenter StudyChronic critical illness in polytrauma. Results of the Spanish trauma in ICU registry.
Chronic critical illness after trauma injury has not been fully evaluated, and there is little evidence in this regard. We aim to describe the prevalence and risk factors of chronic critical illness (CCI) in trauma patients admitted to the intensive care unit. ⋯ CCI in trauma is a prevalent entity in our series. Early identification could facilitate specific interventions to change the trajectory of this process.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyCardiac dysfunction and mortality in critically ill patients with COVID-19 - a Swedish multicentre observational study.
The prevalence and importance of cardiac dysfunction in critically ill patients with COVID-19 in Sweden is not yet established. The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of cardiac dysfunction and elevated pulmonary artery pressure (PAP), and its influence on mortality in patients with COVID-19 in intensive care in Sweden. ⋯ Cardiac dysfunction occurs commonly in critically ill patients with COVID-19 in Sweden. RV dysfunction and elevated PAP are associated with an increased risk of death.

Multicenter StudyImproving neuromuscular monitoring and reducing residual neuromuscular blockade via e-learning - a multicentre interrupted time-series study (INVERT study).
Neuromuscular monitoring should be applied routinely to avoid residual neuromuscular block. However, anaesthetists often refrain from applying it, even when the equipment is available. We aimed to increase neuromuscular monitoring in six Danish anaesthesia departments via e-learning. ⋯ We found no overall effect of the e-learning module on application of neuromuscular monitoring, although the post-course test indicated an effect on anaesthetists' knowledge in this field.
