The purpose of this study was to analyze the imaging findings and clinical features of intracal lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma. ⋯ Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma is a seldom-seen subtype meningioma of WHO grade I, often accompanying anemia or polyclonal immunoglobulin hyperplasia, which can recover to normal state after removing the masses. The masses showed higher density and without clear boundary in plain CT scan, and most of the tumors appear with irregular shape, obvious edema, and significant enhancement in the MRI scan. The prognosis is favorable after surgical resection and the recurrence rate is low.

Computer-aided jaw surgery has been extensively studied recently. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical feasibility of performing bimaxillary orthognathic surgery without intermediate splint using virtual surgical planning and rapid prototyping technology. ⋯ Results from this study suggested that it was feasible to perform bimaxillary orthognathic surgery without intermediate splint. Virtual surgical planning and the guiding splints facilitated the diagnosis, treatment planning, accurate osteotomy, and bony segments repositioning in orthognathic surgery.

Microvascular decompression (MVD) has been accepted worldwide as a reasonable treatment for hemifacial spasm (HFS); however, resolution of the HFS is often gradual. To conclude the delayed relief rate of the MVD for the treatment of HFS, we conducted a systematic review. Using the keywords delayed relief, hemifacial spasm, or microvascular decompression, articles published in English-language journals and indexed in PubMed between June 1, 1994 and June 1, 2014 on the treatment of HFS with emphasis on delayed relief were considered for this study. ⋯ The mean rate of delayed relief was 25.4% (18.8%-37.1%). Approximately 13.1% (5.9%-19.7%) of the patients with symptom recurrence resorted to repeated MVD during the follow-up period. Accordingly, MVD is the most effective treatment for patients with HFS, but some of the patients may experienced delayed relief, which could be avoided if a thorough decompression of the facial nerve root had been obtained.

This study was designed to evaluate the results in isolated mandibular angle fractures treated with resorbable plates and to summarize experiences of the application of resorbable plates. ⋯ With proper indication, resorbable plates are suitable for the fixation of isolated mandibular angle fractures. Single or dual resorbable plates by intraoral or extraoral approach can be individualized on the basis of the patients' condition.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Surgical management of non-communicating hydrocephalus in patients: meta-analysis and comparison of endoscopic third ventriculostomy and ventriculoperitoneal shunt.
We performed a meta-analysis of reported series of endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) and ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) for non-communicating hydrocephalus to determine whether comparisons between the outcomes in ETV and VPS approaches are valid. ⋯ ETV and VPS have therapeutic equivalence for non-communicating hydrocephalus, whereas ETV can result in lower surgery time, incidence of postoperative complication, and reoperation rate of hydrocephalus.
