ReviewBone defect classifications in revision total knee arthroplasty, their reliability and utility: a systematic review.
There are various classification systems described in the literature for managing bone defects in revision knee arthroplasty (RTKA). We analysed the reliability and usefulness of these classification systems. ⋯ None of the available classification systems is reliably established in determining the bone loss and treatment plans in RTKA. Among all, AORI classification is the most widely used system in clinical practice. The reliability of AORI Classification is fair for femoral bone loss and substantial for tibial bone loss.

Meta AnalysisEfficacy and safety of autologous chondrocyte implantation for osteochondral defects of the talus: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Studies have reported various effects of autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) on osteochondral defects of the talus. Therefore, to assess the effectiveness of ACI for osteochondral defects of the talus, we used the meta-analytic approach. ⋯ This study revealed that the use of ACI could provide a relatively high success rate and improve the AOFAS score for patients with osteochondral defects of the talus, which should be recommended in clinical practice.

Total hip arthroplasty for destructive septic arthritis of the hip using a two-stage protocol without spacer placement.
The optimal treatment of patients with a degenerative joint disease secondary to an active or chronic septic arthritis of the hip is unclear. The aim of the present study was to report on our experience with two-stage total hip arthroplasty (THA) using a contemporary treatment protocol without spacer insertion. ⋯ Two-stage THA without spacer placement is a viable treatment option for destructive septic arthritis of the hip, demonstrating comparable rates of infection control and functional outcome. However, definitive resection arthroplasty is not uncommon in these often critically ill patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialResults after primary reverse shoulder arthroplasty with and without subscapularis repair: a prospective-randomized trial.
Indications for reverse shoulder arthroplasties (rTSA) have increased since their development by Paul Grammont in 1985. Prosthesis design was enhanced over time, but the management of the tendon of the M. subscapularis (SSC-tendon) in primary rTSA is still a controversial subject with regard to perform a refixation or not. ⋯ SSC-tendon repair in rTSA improves CS and internal rotation 12 months after surgery.

Patients with stage II of the knee osteoarthritis most likely benefit from the intra-articular injections of autologous adipose tissue-from 2 years of follow-up studies.
Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common, chronic, progressive and degenerative disease which affects patients' quality of life and may cause disability and social isolation. OA is a huge economic burden for the patient and a large strain for the whole healthcare system. Articular cartilage has a small potential to repair, with progressively more clinicians emphasizing cellular therapy. Subcutaneous fat tissue in human body is a large reservoir of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and is been harvested in minimally invasive, simple procedure. The purpose of this study was to define a specific group of patients with knee osteoarthritis, who are the most likely to benefit from the treatment with intra-articular injection of an autologous adipose tissue (AAT). ⋯ The main conclusion of this study is that the patients with stage II of the knee OA with normal BMI are were most likely to benefit from IA injection of AAT, in contrast to the patients with stage IV, who will not beware not satisfied with the effectiveness of this kind of treatment. There were no adverse events reported at the donor site as well as in the treated knee joints.
