Meta AnalysisThe meniscotibial ligament role in meniscal extrusion: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The meniscotibial ligament (MTL) limits extrusion of the medial meniscus (MM). While meniscal extrusion may be detrimental to knee joint biomechanics, the role of the MTL in meniscal extrusion is debatable. We sought to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the role of the MTL and surgical techniques for MTL repair. ⋯ MTL injury may result in approximately 3 mm of MM extrusion, while repair of the MTL can decrease extrusion by 2 mm. Several novel surgical techniques exist to repair the MTL. However, studies reporting clinical outcomes of these various procedures are scarce.

Meta AnalysisSurvivorship of the dual-mobility construct in elective primary total hip replacement: a systematic review and meta-analysis including registry data.
Dislocation is a common complication associated with total hip replacement (THR). Dual-mobility constructs (DMC-THR) may be used in high-risk patients and have design features that may reduce the risk of dislocation. We aimed to report overall pooled estimates of all-cause construct survival for elective primary DMC-THR. Secondary outcomes included unadjusted dislocation rate, revision for instability, infection and fracture. ⋯ Survivorship of DMC-THR in primary THR is acceptable according to the national revision benchmark published by National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

ReviewSupramalleolar osteotomies for ankle arthritis: a systematic review.
We investigated the mid-term outcomes of supramalleolar osteotomies regarding "survivorship" [before ankle arthrodesis (AA) or total ankle replacement (TAR)], complication rate and adjuvant procedures required. ⋯ SMOs combined with adjuvant, osseous and soft tissue, procedures, were performed mostly for arthritic ankles of stage II and III, according to the Takakura classification and offered functional improvement with low complication rate. Approximately, 10% of SMOs failed and patients required AA or TAR, after an average of just over 4 years (50.5 months) after the index surgery. It is debatable whether varus and valgus ankles treated with SMO reveal different success rates.

Multicenter StudyA novel classification of osteotomized debridement based on the range of focus in treating active thoracolumbar tuberculosis: a multicenter study.
Osteotomized debridement (OD) is increasingly used in the treatment of active thoracolumbar tuberculosis (TB). So far, no nomenclature has been established to describe the patterns of OD, and thus the surgical outcomes cannot be directly analyzed and compared among the patients treated with different extents of OD. The purpose of this study was to establish a reliable classification of OD for further study of spinal TB. ⋯ This classification proved to be intuitive and reliable. The graded OD provides a platform for preoperative evaluation and allows comparative analysis of clinical outcomes in different extents of OD.
