Five-year polyethylene cup migration and PE wear of the Anatomic Dual Mobility acetabular construct.
Dual mobility implants have been successful in reducing postoperative hip dislocation but mid-term results of cup migration and polyethylene wear are missing in the literature. Therefore, we measured migration and wear at 5-year follow-up using radiostereometric analysis (RSA). ⋯ Anatomic Dual Mobility monoblock cups were well-fixed, the polyethylene wear rate was low, and the clinical outcomes were good until 5-year follow-up suggesting good implant survival in patients of different age groups and with heterogeneous indications for THA.

Incidence of fracture hospitalization and surgery during pregnancy in Finland-1998-2017: a retrospective register-based cohort study.
The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of all major fractures and surgery during pregnancy and the outcomes of pregnancy in Finland between 1998 and 2017. ⋯ The incidence of fracture hospitalization during pregnancy is lower than in the general population, and fractures in this population are more often treated conservatively. A higher proportion of preterm deliveries and stillbirths occurred in women with lumbosacral and comminuted spinopelvic fractures. Maternal mortality and stillbirth rates remain low among women with fractures leading to hospitalization or surgery during pregnancy.

One-stage revision versus debridement, antibiotics, and implant retention (DAIR) for acute prosthetic knee infection: an exploratory cohort study.
Studies have shown that debridement, antibiotics, and implant retention (DAIR) is an effective procedure for acute infection of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This study aimed to explore DAIR and one-stage revision for homogenous cohorts with acute postoperative and acute hematogenous infection of TKA, without compelling indications to perform a staged revision. ⋯ This study would suggest the use of one-stage revision over DAIR for acute postoperative and acute hematogenous infection of TKA. It suggests that there could be other potential criteria which have not been ascertained that need to be considered for optimal DAIR selection. The study indicates the need for more research and, of note, high-quality randomized controlled trials to provide a well-defined treatment protocol with high level of evidence to guide patient selection for DAIR.

Early ACL reconstruction shows an improved recovery of isokinetic thigh muscle strength compared to delayed or chronic cases.
The recovery of periarticular strength is a major criterion in return-to-play testing. The rationale of the study was to assess the impact of the delay of surgery (∆ between injury and surgery) on knee extensor and knee flexor strength of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)-deficient patients six months after reconstruction. ⋯ III, retrospective cohort study.

Comparison of segmental lordosis gain of prone transpsoas (PTP) vs. lateral lumbar interbody fusion.
Lumbar interbody fusion is a standard method to treat certain degenerative conditions that are refractory to conservative treatments. LLIF reduces posterior muscle damage, can relieve neurological symptoms through indirect decompression, provides increased stability with its wider cages, and promotes more significant segmental lordosis than standard posterior techniques. However, the technique possesses its issues, such as unusual positioning, possible plexus-related symptoms, and median segmental lordosis correction. Trying to ease those issues, the idea of a prone transpsoas technique occurred. ⋯ The prone transpsoas approach can significantly enhance the correction of segmental lordosis proportionated to the traditional LLIF approach.
