Comparative StudySubjective and objective results of arthroscopic debridement of ulnar-sided TFCC (Palmer type 1B) lesions with stable distal radio-ulnar joint.
The purpose of this study was to determine functional and subjective results of patients who received arthroscopic debridement for their TFCC Palmer 1B lesions and to compare their results with those of arthroscopic suture repair. ⋯ Arthroscopic debridement of Palmer type 1B lesions in stable DRUJ yields satisfactory to excellent results. Our study showed similar results compared with the studies of arthroscopic suture repair with shorter postoperative care and fewer complications.

Comparative StudyThe importance of CT for the pre-operative surgical planning in recurrent anterior shoulder instability.
MRI is the current pre-operative imaging standard in recurrent anterior shoulder instability; however, CT has increasingly gained interest due to its advantages in the detection of bony glenoid defects. This study compares the value of CT imaging and MRI for pre-operative surgical planning in recurrent anterior shoulder instability. ⋯ Despite the advantages of MRI in the detection of soft tissue damages in recurrent anterior shoulder instability CT imaging proved to be more important for pre-operative planning by prevailing in the detection of glenoid defects. Therefore, the replacement of MRI as preoperative imaging standard with CT imaging is recommended.

Comparative StudySuture anchors or transglenoidal sutures for arthroscopic repair of isolated SLAP-2 lesions? A matched-pair comparison of functional outcome and return to sports.
Presumably, the technique of SLAP refixation has significant influence on outcome. This study analyzes and compares functional outcome and return to sports after arthroscopic suture anchor (SA) and arthroscopic transglenoidal suture (TS) repair of isolated SLAP-2 lesions. ⋯ Superior objective and subjective shoulder function was obtained following arthroscopic SA repair compared to arthroscopic TS repair of isolated SLAP-2 lesions. In addition, results of SA repair were more predictable. However, nearly half of the athletes did not achieve full return to sports regardless of the applied technique of refixation.

Results of metal-on-metal hip resurfacing in patients 40 years old and younger.
The prevalence of total hip arthroplasty in young patients is small but increasing. We analyzed the results of metal-on-metal hip resurfacing (MMHR) in patients aged 40 years or less. In total 74 operations were performed on 64 patients. ⋯ Seven-year survival was 90.5 %. The functional outcome of hip resurfacing in this cohort was excellent, but overall survival was unsatisfactory. Further analysis is required to verify the role of hip resurfacing among young and active patients.

The aetiology of total knee arthroplasty failure influences the improvement in knee function.
Some indications for revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA), e.g. arthrofibrosis, have been identified to yield inferior results. The aim of this study was to analyse the results of revision TKA according to aetiology of TKA failure. ⋯ The aetiology of TKA failure has an effect on the improvement in knee function from revision TKA. As no difference was observed between patient groups postoperatively, similar clinical results can be expected independent of the aetiology of primary TKA failure.
