Case ReportsReconstruction of the coronoid process with iliac crest bone graft in complex fracture-dislocation of elbow.
A 36-year-old man sustained posterior dislocation of left elbow joint with olecranon fracture, comminuted coronoid fracture and subluxation of proximal radioulnar joint. We reconstructed the coronoid process with autogenous iliac crest bone graft and reduced the olecranon fracture with internal fixation. In addition, we also repaired the medial collateral ligament, annular ligament and anterior capsule during the operation. ⋯ The radiographic bone union was found 2 months after operation. The range of motion of the elbow was full at 12 months after operation. The latest 2-year follow-up, the functional result of the elbow was excellent.

Case ReportsFree functional gracilis muscle transfer for reconstruction of massive ectopic calcification following a lower extremity fracture: a case report and overview of the literature.
We present a patient with massive posttraumatic ectopic calcification in the lower extremity. The patient complained of an increasing tender soft tissue mass with signs of acute inflammation and foot dorsiflexion weakness following a tibial fracture for 34 years. ⋯ The resected material showed highly fibrosed soft tissue with extensive dystrophic calcifications. There were no sign of recurrence at 18-month follow-up.

Arthroscopic reconstruction of the acromioclavicular joint disruption: surgical technique and preliminary results.
Numerous operative procedures have been described for the reconstruction of acromioclavicular joint separation; however, the arthroscopic reconstruction has been rarely reported. Therefore, our objective was to propose a new technique of arthroscopic acromioclavicular joint surgery and to evaluate the preliminary results. ⋯ Considering its less morbidity, excellent cosmesis, no need of hardware removal, and minimal complications from breakage or migration of metal implants, this new technique offers an attractive alternative in acromioclavicular joint stabilization.

Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using hamstring tendon graft without detachment of the tibial insertion.
We report results of the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using a four-strand hamstring graft without detachment of the tibial insertion of the tendons. ⋯ Detachment of hamstring tendons from their tibial insertion is unnecessary and our results with accelerated rehabilitation without protective braces are satisfactory and comparable to other studies.

Review Case ReportsFalse aneurysm of the left femoral artery and thrombosis of the left femoral vein after total hip arthroplasty.
We report a 75-year-old male patient with an aneurysm of the left femoral artery after cemented total hip arthroplasty. Two months after the operation, the patient showed a spherical resistance and pain in the left groin. Examination showed a big false aneurysm of the left femoral artery. ⋯ The aneurysm originated from a punctual lesion of the artery caused by a screw. Since the first description of vessel lesions in orthopaedic surgery in 1964, a total of 24 cases of aneurysm in hip surgery have been described. Therefore, a review of literature tries to explain causes and mechanisms of vessel injuries in hip surgery and the possibilities of repair.
