Meta AnalysisThe current burden of non-melanoma skin cancer attributable to ultraviolet radiation and related risk behaviours in Canada.
Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is an established cause of non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC)-basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The aim of this study was to estimate the current burden of BCC and SCC associated with UVR and modifiable UVR behaviours (sunburn, sunbathing, and indoor tanning) in Canada in 2015. ⋯ Our results provide quantifiable estimates of the potentially avoidable burden of NMSCs among Canadians. These estimates can be used to motivate prevention efforts in Canada.

Meta AnalysisCoffee consumption and prostate cancer risk: an updated meta-analysis.
Many epidemiological studies have been conducted to explore the association between coffee consumption and prostate cancer. However, the results remain inconsistent. We performed a large meta-analysis of relevant studies to derive a more precise estimation of this relationship. ⋯ Our meta-analysis suggests that high (e.g., highest ≥ 4 or 5 cups/day) coffee consumption may not only be associated with a reduced risk of overall prostate cancer, but also inversely associated with fatal and high-grade prostate cancer.

Meta AnalysisABO blood group and risk of epithelial ovarian cancer within the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium.
Previous studies have examined the association between ABO blood group and ovarian cancer risk, with inconclusive results. ⋯ Consistent with most previous reports, the A blood type was associated modestly with increased ovarian cancer risk in this large analysis of multiple studies of ovarian cancer. Future studies investigating potential biologic mechanisms are warranted.
