Whole-heart coronary magnetic resonance angiography at 3.0T using short-TR steady-state free precession, vastly undersampled isotropic projection reconstruction.
To evaluate the feasibility of improving 3.0T steady-state free precession (SSFP) whole-heart coronary magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) using short-TR (repetition time) VIPR (vastly undersampled isotropic projection reconstruction). ⋯ With VIPR trajectory the TR is substantially decreased, reducing the sensitivity of SSFP to field inhomogeneity and resulting in whole-heart images without banding artifacts at 3.0T. Image quality improved significantly over Cartesian sampling.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyPreoperative detection of prostate cancer: a comparison with 11C-choline PET, 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose PET and MR imaging.
To compare (11)C-choline positron emission tomography (C-PET), (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose PET (FDG-PET), and MR imaging in the preoperative detection of prostate cancer. ⋯ MR imaging should be primarily performed in the preoperative detection of prostate cancer. C-PET and FDG-PET did not improve the detection.

Clinical TrialDynamic MR perfusion imaging: capability for quantitative assessment of disease extent and prediction of outcome for patients with acute pulmonary thromboembolism.
To compare directly the capabilities of multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) and MRI for disease severity assessment and outcome prediction for acute pulmonary thromboembolism (APTE) patients. ⋯ Dynamic perfusion MRI can be effective for disease extent assessment and outcome prediction for APTE patients.

Fat suppression with short inversion time inversion-recovery and chemical-shift selective saturation: a dual STIR-CHESS combination prepulse for turbo spin echo pulse sequences.
To test a newly developed fat suppression magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prepulse that synergistically uses the principles of fat suppression via inversion recovery (STIR) and spectral fat saturation (CHESS), relative to pure CHESS and STIR. This new technique is termed dual fat suppression (Dual-FS). ⋯ The Dual-FS-STIR-CHESS is an alternative and promising fat suppression technique for turbo spin echo MRI.

Three-dimensional balanced steady state free precession imaging of the prostate: flip angle dependency of the signal based on a two component T2-decay model.
To investigate the contrast of three-dimensional balanced steady state free precession (3D bSSFP) in the two component T2 model and to apply the results to optimize 3D bSSFP for prostate imaging at 1.5 Tesla. ⋯ Prostate imaging with bSSFP benefited from high flip angles. The biexponential model provided good signal prediction while predictions from the monoexponential models are dependent on the range of TE used for T2 determination.
