Determining the optimal postlabeling delay for arterial spin labeling using subject-specific estimates of blood velocity in the carotid artery.
Arterial spin labeling with 3D acquisition requires determining a single postlabeling delay (PLD) value. PLD affects the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) per unit time as well as quantitative cerebral blood flow (CBF) values due to its bearing on the presence of a vascular signal. ⋯ 2 Technical Efficacy: Stage 1 J. Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping as a quantitative imaging biomarker for prediction of immunohistochemical receptor status, proliferation rate, and molecular subtypes of breast cancer.
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping is one of the most useful additional MRI parameters to improve diagnostic accuracy and is now often used in a multiparameric imaging setting for breast tumor detection and characterization. ⋯ 3 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Application of neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging to characterize brain microstructural abnormalities in type-2 diabetics with mild cognitive impairment.
Diffusion-tensor-imaging (DTI) is sensitive in detecting white matter changes in type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, DTI indices can be affected by either neurite density or spatial variation. A novel diffusion MRI technique, termed neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI), can provide distinct indices of fiber density and dispersion. ⋯ 1 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Comparative Study Observational StudyComparing invasive with MRI-derived intracranial pressure measurements in healthy elderly and brain trauma cases: A pilot study.
Intracranial pressure (ICP) is an important physiological parameter in several neurological disorders. Considerable effort has been made to measure ICP noninvasively. MR-based ICP (MR-ICP) is a nonempirical method based on principles of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) physiology, where ICP is obtained from measurements of blood and CSF flows to and from the cranium during the cardiac cycle. ⋯ 3 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2019;50:975-981.

Transition zone prostate cancer: Logistic regression and machine-learning models of quantitative ADC, shape and texture features are highly accurate for diagnosis.
The limitation of diagnosis of transition zone (TZ) prostate cancer (PCa) using subjective assessment of multiparametric (mp) MRI with PI-RADS v2 is related to overlapping features between cancers and stromal benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) nodules, particularly in small lesions. ⋯ 3 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J.
