[Abstinence rates with varenicline compared to bupropion and nicotine replacement therapy for quitting smoking in primary care].
The objective of this study was to estimate the continuous abstinence rates of varenicline, bupropion and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in smoking cessation in 2 Primary Care (PC) External Support Units. ⋯ One year-follow up results suggest that varenicline is an appropriate alternative compared with bupropion and NRT on smoking cessation in the PC setting.

[Organizational procedures and health care management. A point of view from primary care centres].
We aimed to know how the directive teams perceive the implementation of organizational procedures in relation with the health care management in the primary care setting. ⋯ A wide variability of the implementation of organizational procedures in PCC was observed. Further research is needed to determine whether any organizational and professional changes could contribute to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction.

We aimed to verify the level of blood pressure and glucose control and treatment in hypertensive diabetics seen in Primary Care Centres in Spain. ⋯ A large proportion of hypertensive diabetics are insufficiently controlled.

To investigate the habits and risk factors of adolescents from two Health Centres in two semi-urban populations using a structured clinical interview with open questions. ⋯ Risk factors and life style habits prevalent in reference to weight, fruit, vegetables and dairy products consumption, sport, smoking, alcohol and depression problems have been similar to the ones found in other studies that have used anonymous surveys. Prevalence of substance abuse has been lower.

To study the feasibility of a basic ophthalmological examination for the eye disease in diabetic patients by Primary Health Care (PHC). ⋯ Agreement between GP and ophthalmologist leads to a reliable ophthalmological examination of the diabetic patient in PHC. Despite an over-diagnosis and 16% of non-justified referrals by the GP, Ophthalmology Department referral is avoided in almost half of the diabetic patients.
