Our aim was to find out the situation of heart failure (HF) in primary care. ⋯ Patients with HF in primary care are elderly females with a lot of comorbidities. We must be concerned by the suboptimal use of basic investigations (electrocardiogram and X-ray) and beta blocker treatments.

The aim of this study is to analyse premature deaths due to alcohol consumption in 2004 in Spain and its different Autonomous Communities. ⋯ The estimation of the PYLL shows the great impact that alcohol consumption has on the premature death rate in Spain ant the Spanish Autonomous Communities. Given that alcohol consumption is an avoidable cause of death, the adoption of preventive measures aimed at reducing consumption, as well as the early detection and treatment of possible alcohol related problems is vital.

[Quality improvement of health information included in drug information leaflets. Patient and health professional expectations].
To report on patient and professional opinions and expectations concerning the information included in drug package leaflets and to determine their readability. ⋯ Health information must centre on practical aspects of the health-illness-care process. Leaflets must be adapted to the needs of the patients and professionals. Physicians are commonly consulted by patients, so it is important to ensure they have high communication skills. Patients have the need for constant information; therefore new information channels must be created.

[Spanish Family Medicine Trainee Portfolio-Book: The extent of its implementation and trainee and trainer opinions after two years experience].
To find out to what extent The "Reflective Practice Guide" (RPG) (a semi-structured Portfolio guide) has been implemented in a Spanish Family Medicine Vocational Training Region (Unidad Docente Provincial) and the opinions of trainees and trainers after using it in actual conditions. ⋯ The GPR is a formative tool that trainees carried out with their trainers even to a greater extent than that recommended by the GPR. Both groups perceive this tool as useful for effectively reflecting the trainees practice and for strengthening their relationship.
