[Home blood pressure self-monitoring. Influence of the mean calculation used on the diagnosis of white-coat hypertension].
To describe the variations in the diagnosis performance of home blood pressure self-monitoring (hBPSM) with different methods for mean calculation, in order to diagnose white-coat hypertension (WCH). ⋯ The diagnostic performance of hBPSM in WCH was low and failed to improve with the use of different systems to calculate mean BP.

[Validation of a scale to measure ill-treatment of women].
To analyse the validity of content and of structure and the reliability of a questionnaire designed to measure ill-treatment (IT) of women by their partners. ⋯ We found this was a reliable and valid questionnaire for evaluating ill-treatment of women. Its use, particularly in primary care, could help expand and deepen understanding of the problem.

To create and validate a tool to assess the organizational climate (OC) perceived by general practitioners (GP). ⋯ We found a questionnaire with good validity and reliability, which was useful for evaluating the OC perceived by GPs.

[Effectiveness of an intervention to improve quality care in reducing cardiovascular risk in hypertense patients].
To evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention on health workers, based on quality improvement through reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients with hypertension. ⋯ The quality improvement intervention was effective in decreasing coronary risk and cardiovascular mortality risk in patients with hypertension.

To evaluate the presence of diabetes mellitus (DM) or short-term alterations in glucose metabolism, obesity and vascular risk factors after birth in women with pregnancy metabolic syndrome (PMS). To evaluate the incidence of obesity, lipaemia, glucaemia disorder, blood pressure (BP), or lipid figures in the period after birth in children of women with PMS. DESIGN. Cohort study. SETTING. Forty two primary care centres. ⋯ This study will contribute to locating the moment when diabetes and vascular risk start and to finding the optimum moment for starting prevention strategies.
