Validity and reliability of the Greek version of the Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale.
Low back pain is related to functional status and possible resulting disability. The Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBPDS) has been used widely to evaluate functional disability in patients with low back pain. The purpose of this study was to assess: (a) the face and content validity, (b) the factor structure, (c) the concurrent validity, (d) the discriminant validity, (e) the internal consistency and the test-retest reliability (ICC) of the Greek version of the QBPDS. ⋯ The Greek translation of the QBPDS provided reliable and valid instrument for the evaluation of Greek patients with low back pain.

Efficacy of pulsed radiofrequency treatment on the saphenous nerve in patients with chronic knee pain.
We studied the long-term efficacy of pulsed radiofrequency treatment (PRF) on the saphenous nerve in 115 patients with chronic knee pain. ⋯ PRF application to the saphenous nerve for eight minutes showed remarkable amount of patient satisfaction. Application of PRF for the second time could be recommended if it shows some benefit after the sixth month. But none of our patients needed a second application of PRF after six months period.

Case ReportsOsteopoikilosis associated with fibromyalgia and active myofascial trigger point in upper trapezius muscles.
Osteopoikilosis is a sclerosing bone dysplasia, characterized by multiple oval spots of radiodensities within the trabecular bone. It occurs equally common among men and women. ⋯ Most reported cases have been found incidentally on roentgenograms taken for other purposes. We present a 58-year-old woman with OPK associated with fibromyalgia and active myofascial trigger point in upper trapezius muscles.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe efficacy of balneotherapy and physical modalities on the pulmonary system of patients with fibromyalgia.
Effects of balneotherapy on Primary Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) have been studied well, except for its effect on the respiratory symptoms of FMS. In this study we allocated 56 patients with FMS into three groups who matched according to age, gender and duration of illness. All three groups received the same three physical therapy modalities (PTM): transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), ultrasound (US) and infrared (IR). ⋯ PTM combined BT and HT groups achieved significant improvements at the end of therapies for dyspnea scale and spirometric measurements, but only PTM +BT group had significant improvements for dyspnea scale and spirometric measurements at six month follow up. The group of PTM+BT was significantly better than other groups. Our results suggest that supplementation of PTM with balneotherapy is effective on the respiratory and other symptoms of FMS and these effects were better than other protocols at 6 month follow up.

Randomized Controlled TrialRapid analgesic onset of intra-articular hyaluronic acid with ketorolac in osteoarthritis of the knee.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of intra-articular ketorolac to improve intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) therapy in knee osteoarthritis with respect to the initiation of pain relief. ⋯ Intra-articular HA with ketorolac showed more rapid analgesic onset than intra-articular HA alone and did not induce any serious complications.
