Drastically Progressive Ethambutol-induced Optic Neuropathy after Withdrawal of Ethambutol: A Case Report and Literature Review.
Ethambutol-induced optic neuropathy (EON) is a well-known complication, although low-dose ethambutol seldom causes EON. An 85-year-old man with non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung disease was taking antibiotics, including low-dose ethambutol. ⋯ Despite prior discontinuation, his best corrected visual acuity drastically deteriorated from 20/17 (right eye) and 20/20 (left eye) to 20/330 (right eye) and 20/1,000 (left eye) within 3 weeks, and this symptom did not resolve. To our knowledge, there have been no reported cases with drastically progressing and irreversible EON even after the withdrawal of low-dose and short-term ethambutol.

Recurrent Aseptic Meningitis Associated with Kikuchi's Disease (Histiocytic Necrotizing Lymphadenitis): A Case Report and Literature Review.
We herein report a 31-year-old man with recurrent aseptic meningitis associated with Kikuchi's disease. Although aseptic meningitis is the most common neurological complication of Kikuchi's disease, its characteristics remain unclear, especially in recurrent cases. ⋯ Lymphadenopathy tended to occur simultaneously or after the onset of meningitis. When encountering a patient with aseptic meningitis of unknown etiology, it may be worthwhile to focus on the CSF/serum glucose ratio and lymphadenopathy with a careful examination.

Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Induced Portosystemic Encephalopathy: A Case Report and Literature Review.
Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare disorder characterized by telangiectasias and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), which can involve multiple organ systems. Although hepatic involvement is common, the development of portosystemic encephalopathy is extremely rare. ⋯ Color Doppler ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed hepatic AVMs and shunts, which were useful for making the definite diagnosis. Portosystemic encephalopathy should be considered as a differential diagnosis in HHT patients presenting with disturbance of consciousness.

Osimertinib for Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Case Report and Literature Review.
The efficacy of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in lung squamous cell carcinoma is said to be low. Thus far, only four cases of osimertinib in lung squamous cell carcinoma have been published. We experienced a case of EGFR mutant lung squamous cell carcinoma in which fifth-line treatment with osimertinib was effective after T790M EGFR mutation turned positive. ⋯ Osimertinib may be a promising treatment option for EGFR mutant lung squamous cell carcinoma. This is the first report to show its effect in a case of rechallenge after intervening chemotherapy. It may therefore be important to evaluate EGFR in never-smoker lung squamous cell carcinoma patients.

Recurrence of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with Bone Marrow Necrosis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature on the MRI Features of Bone Marrow Necrosis.
Bone marrow necrosis (BMN) is a rare but important complication of hematological malignancies. We report the case of a 52-year-old male patient with a recurrence of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) accompanied by BMN. ⋯ BMA from the sternum eventually revealed the recurrence of ALL after a few weeks. Comprehensive assessments, including MRI and repeated bone marrow tests, are required when evaluating the underlying hematological malignancies of patients with BMN.
