ReviewValue of pressure injury assessment scales for patients in the intensive care unit: Systematic review and diagnostic test accuracy meta-analysis.
To review and examine the evidence of the value of pressure injury risk assessment scales in intensive care patients. ⋯ The Braden scale, most frequently used in hospitals, is not the best risk assessment tool for critically ill patients. The Cubbin & Jackson Index has good diagnostic test accuracy. However, low quality of evidence and important heterogeneity were observed.

ReviewThe impact of rapid response systems on mortality and cardiac arrests - A literature review.
Rapid response systems were created to improve recognition of and response to deterioration of general ward patients. ⋯ Evidence suggests that when the process of introducing/maintaining a rapid response system is successful and under certain favourable conditions, rapid response systems significantly decrease mortality and cardiac arrests.

Meta AnalysisDiagnostic test accuracy meta-analysis of PRE-DELIRIC (PREdiction of DELIRium in ICu patients): A delirium prediction model in intensive care practice.
To review and examine the evidence on diagnostic test accuracy of PRE-DELIRIC (PREdiction of DELIRium in ICu patients) for predicting delirium risk in critically ill patients. ⋯ We suggest that the PRE-DELIRIC model can be applied in the intensive care unit according to its good diagnostic test accuracy. However, this finding should be interpreted with caution due to the heterogeneity of this meta-analysis.

Meta AnalysisThe impact of analgosedation on mortality and delirium in critically ill patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess the impact of analgosedation on mortality and delirium in critically ill patients. ⋯ The ICU mortality was decreased by implementing analgosedation, but the hospital mortality and the delirium rates were not. Because of the absence of higher quality study designs, clinical heterogeneity and inclusion of small number of studies, the analysis results must be cautiously interpreted.

Meta AnalysisSleep deprivation determinants as perceived by intensive care unit patients: Findings from a systematic review, meta-summary and meta-synthesis.
To summarise evidence on sleep deprivation and/or poor sleep determinants as experienced by intensive care unit patients. ⋯ Despite the increased relevance of sleep deprivation and poor sleep quality, only a few studies have been performed to date aimed at identifying the factors involved in the phenomenon according to patient experience. The majority of determinants as identified from patients' perspective are modifiable.
