The goal of this study was to better understand the variation of femoral neck version according to spinopelvic and lower limb 3D alignment using biplanar X-rays in standing position. ⋯ II (Diagnostic: individual cross-sectional studies with consistently applied reference standard and blinding).

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of definitive arthrodesis on frontal and sagittal spine balance in EOS patients treated with MCGR, as well as the complications associated with this procedure and the outcome at last follow-up. ⋯ Level 4.

Back pain is a growing problem worldwide, not only in adults but also in children. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important to investigate and understand the factors that influence the early onset of back pain. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of back pain in children and adolescents and to identify predisposing risk factors and protective factors. ⋯ The prevalence of back pain in children and adolescents is very high: The study enhances the case for protective factors such as physical activity habits or video games while reinforcing risk factors such as percent body fat, prolonged smartphone or computer use, and posture.

To test whether multiple-level unilateral thoracic spinal nerves (TSN) resection can induce the initial thoracic cage deformity to cause early onset thoracic scoliosis in an immature porcine model; and 2) to create an early onset thoracic scoliosis in a large animal model that can be used to evaluate growth-friendly surgical techniques and instruments in growing spine researches. ⋯ Unilateral TSN resection induced the initial thoracic deformity toward the TSN resection side resulting in thoracic hypokyphotic scoliosis in an immature pig model. This early onset thoracic scoliosis model could be used to evaluate the growth-friendly surgical techniques and instruments in future growing spine researches.

This is the first study to evaluate the predictive value of the vertebral bone quality (VBQ) score on cage subsidence after transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) in a Chinese population using the spinal quantitative computed tomography (QCT) as the clinical standard. Meanwhile, the accuracy of the MRI-based VBQ score in bone mineral density (BMD) measurement was verified. ⋯ Our findings indicate that the MRI-based VBQ score is a significant predictor of cage subsidence and could be used to assess BMD.
