To evaluate the efficacy of calvarial graft (CG) in craniovertebral fusion procedures in children at a single single center. ⋯ Full thickness calvarial bone graft is readily available, has good structural integrity and is associated with minimal donor site morbidity. CG should be considered for use as a sole construct, or to augment semi-rigid constructs when instrumented fixation is precluded.

To investigate potential of enhancing image quality, maintaining interobserver consensus, and elevating disease diagnostic efficacy through the implementation of deep learning-based reconstruction (DLR) processing in 3.0 T cervical spine fast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, compared with conventional images. ⋯ Our investigation establishes that 3.0 T fast MRI images subjected to DLR processing present heightened image quality, bolstered diagnostic performance, and reduced scanning durations for cervical spine MRI compared with conventional sequences.

Comparison of the efficacy and safety of vertebroplasty with different pedicle approaches for osteoporotic vertebral.
To compare the efficacy and safety of vertebroplasty through different pedicle approaches in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) by network meta-analysis. ⋯ For patients with kyphotic angles, kyphoplasty has unique advantages in improving kyphotic angles. But generally speaking, curved approach can optimize the distribution of bone cement through unilateral approach to achieve the orthopedic effect of bilateral approach, which is a minimally invasive technique with better curative effect and higher safety in the treatment of OVCF.

Cervical kyphosis after posterior cervical laminectomy with and without fusion.
Cervical posterior instrumentation and fusion is often performed to avoid post-laminectomy kyphosis. However, larger comparative analyses of cervical laminectomy with or without fusion are sparse. ⋯ Posterior cervical laminectomy without fusion is associated with mild loss of cervical lordosis of around 6° in the mid-term after approximately five years, however without any clinical relevance regarding NDI or mJOA in well-selected patients (particularly in shorter segment laminectomies of < 3 levels).

This study aimed to evaluate and compare the predictive value of vertebral bone quality (VBQ) score for low BMD and osteoporosis. Furthermore, we sought to enhance diagnostic effectiveness by integrating VBQ with easily accessible patient-specific factors. ⋯ VBQ is better at detecting low BMD than identifying osteoporosis. The ability of VBQ to predict osteoporosis is limited, and a similar diagnostic efficacy can be achieved with age. Incorporating VBQ alongside demographic data enhances the efficiency of BMD assessment. With the development of artificial intelligence in medicine, this simple method is promising.
