Physical Activity, Air Pollution and the Risk of Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Physical activity enhances uptake of air pollutants in the lung, possibly augmenting their harmful effects on chronic lung disease during exercise. ⋯ Increased exposure to air pollution during exercise does not outweigh beneficial effects of physical activity on the risk of asthma and COPD.
