ReviewIs the use of specific time cut-off or "golden period" for primary closure of acute traumatic wounds evidence based? A systematic review.
The time cut-off for primary closure of acute wounds is not clearly defined in the literature or in the surgical textbooks. It is even unclear whether the wound age increases wound infection rate. The scarcity of scientific evidence may explain the diverse wound management practices. ⋯ This review could not establish the time frame for primary closure of wounds. The time intervals mentioned in many surgical textbooks were supported by only a few low-quality studies. More important factors to be considered when delaying primary closure of acute wounds were the history of diabetes, wound location, wound length, and the presence of a foreign body.

Multicenter StudyPediatric tertiary emergency care departments in Zagreb, Rijeka, and Split before and during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic: a Croatian national multicenter study.
To assess the number of visits to pediatric emergency departments in Croatia and reasons for visiting before and during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. ⋯ A significant reduction in the number of pediatric emergency department visits and hospital admissions is indirectly related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the reduction was due to a decreased number of infectious disease cases. However, the number of visits requiring urgent medical intervention did not change.

The cost of care for people living with stable HIV in Croatia and the efficiency of EmERGE.
To estimate the cost-effectiveness of the EmERGE Pathway of Care for medically stable people living with HIV (PLHIV) at the University Hospital for Infectious Diseases (UHID), Zagreb. The Pathway includes a mobile application enabling individuals to communicate with their caregivers. ⋯ EmERGE Pathway was a cost-saving intervention associated with changes in management, and a reduction in outpatient visits, tests, and costs. ARV costs dominated costs. Future efficiencies are possible if EmERGE is introduced to other PLHIV across the UHID and if ARV prices are reduced.

Can laboratory evaluation differentiate between coronavirus disease-2019, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus infections? A retrospective cohort study.
To identify clinical and laboratory parameters that can assist in the differential diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections. ⋯ Male sex, younger age, and low white blood cell count can assist in the diagnosis of COVID-19 over other viral infections. However, the differences between the groups were not substantial enough and would probably not suffice to distinguish between the viral illnesses in the emergency department.
