The objective of this study was to assess the relationship between women's age and risk of pregnancy-related complications. The study was a retrospective cohort analysis of the pregnancy-related complications and outcomes between two age groups of parturient women. Categorical data were expressed as absolute and relative frequencies. ⋯ The rates of labor induction, oxytocin use, vaginal delivery, and need for episiotomy were higher in younger age group. Dystocia and breech presentation as indications for cesarean section were more common among younger women. According to study results, the risk of gestational diabetes and rates of cesarean delivery increased with advanced maternal age.

Case ReportsERECTOR SPINAE PLANE BLOCK AND PLACEMENT OF PERINEURAL CATHETER FOR DEVELOPMENTAL HIP DISORDER SURGERY IN CHILDREN.
The ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane (ESP) block is a novel interfascial plane block technique providing analgesic effects in different localizations of the body, in accordance with the level of administration. Although ESP block is usually performed in the thoracic region in pediatric patients, it is possible to achieve ESP block in the lumbar region as well. Postoperative pain management is essential in patients undergoing operative hip treatment, one of the most common procedures in pediatric orthopedic surgery. We report on a case of effective intraoperative analgesia achieved by ultrasound-guided lumbar ESP block and another case of effective intra- and postoperative analgesia accomplished with perineural catheter placement in addition to lumbar ESP block, both performed in children surgically treated for developmental hip disorders.

THE EFFECT OF PRIMARY ARGON LASER TRABECULOPLASTY ON INTRAOCULAR PRESSURE REDUCTION AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH PSEUDOEXFOLIATION GLAUCOMA.
The aim of the study was to assess the impact of primary argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT) on intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering and quality of life improvement in patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma. Sixty patients with newly diagnosed pseudoexfoliative glaucoma who underwent primary ALT (group 2) or medication therapy (group 1) were followed-up. The effect of ALT on IOP reduction, dry eye development and number of antiglaucoma drugs used was examined. ⋯ In group 2, the value of Schirmer test was constantly above 10 millimeters. The number of antiglaucoma medications used in group 1 was statistically significantly higher as compared to group 2 throughout the 18-month study period. ALT was found to be better choice for temporary regulation of IOP in patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma.

Case ReportsURETERAL TRIPLICATION ACCIDENTALLY FOUND DURING CERVICAL CARCINOMA OPERATION.
Ureteral triplication is a very rare anomaly found in the upper urinary tract. This condition can be connected with a higher incidence of congenital anomalies and predisposition for urinary infections. Operative procedure is considered in cases where symptoms reduce the patient's quality of life. ⋯ The risk of renal failure is usually a deciding factor, which can be found in conditions such as vesicoureteral reflux, obstruction, ureteral ectopy and recurrent infections. Simultaneous treatment of upper and lower urinary tract can be performed. We report a case of a 38-year-old female patient diagnosed with cervical carcinoma, where ureteral triplication was detected incidentally during a radical operative procedure.

ISOLATED MATERNAL HYPOTHYROXINEMIA AND ITS PERINATAL OUTCOME IN NORTH MACEDONIA.
Isolated maternal hypothyroxinemia (IMH) is defined as the presence of low maternal total thyroxine (TT4) level in conjunction with normal maternal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level. The aim was to investigate whether IMH is associated with adverse pregnancy outcome in North Macedonia. Dried blood spot samples were obtained from 359 pregnant women meeting the inclusion criteria and analyzed for TT4 and TSH. ⋯ Overweight could be a potential risk factor for thyroid dysfunction in pregnant women, and specifically IMH. The worst fetal outcome was seen in IMH mothers examined in second trimester. We found TSH, TT4 and BMI to be strong predictors of perinatal outcomes.
