Refractive Error among Children Presenting to the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Refractive error is an important component of the priority disease 'childhood blindness' within the vision 2020 initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness. Some 12.8 million in the age group 5-15 years are visually impaired from uncorrected or inadequately corrected refractive errors. Early detection and treatment of uncorrected refractive errors enable them to perform better in daily activities. Case ReportsPerioperative Diagnosis and Anaesthetic Management of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension in Pregnancy: A Case Report.

With an incidence of 0.9 per 100,000 in women of childbearing age, the incidence in obese women is as high as 19.3 per 100,000. Here, we represent the case of a 31-year-old, non-obese primigravida with hypothyroidism which was diagnosed as idiopathic intracranial hypertension during pregnancy. This patient, was managed with multi-disciplinary considerations so as to avoid complications in perioperative period. ⋯ case reports; cesarean section; idiopathic intracranial hypertension; ultrasonography.

Positive Pivot Shift Test among Patients with Displaced Anterior Tibial Spine Fractures Undergoing Arthroscopic Fixation in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Understanding of displaced anterior tibial spine fractures has evolved over the years and is now considered to be anterior cruciate ligament avulsion injuries rather than intra-articular fractures. However, there are very few studies available evaluating the presence or absence of a pivot shift test, which is specific in diagnosing anterior cruciate ligament insufficiency, in patients with anterior tibial spine fractures. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of the positive pivot shift test among patients with displaced anterior tibial spine fractures undergoing arthroscopic fixation in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ anterior cruciate ligament; arthroscopy; knee fractures; physical examination.
