Benign Breast Disease among Patients Visiting the Breast and Endocrine Clinic of a Tertiary Care Centre.
Breast diseases encompass a wide range of conditions, including benign and malignant disorders. Given the significant burden of breast-related health issues in the community, there is a critical need to understand the prevalence. This study aimed to find the prevalence of benign breast diseases among patients visiting the breast and endocrine clinic of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ benign; breast diseases; mastalgia; prevalence.

Case ReportsLarge Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of Gallbladder: A Case Report.
Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the gallbladder is an extremely rare tumour with aggressive behaviour and a bad prognosis. Here, we report a case of a 65-year-old lady suspected of carcinoma of the gallbladder and underwent extended cholecystectomy. The histopathology report revealed neuroendocrine carcinoma of a large cell type of gall bladder infiltrating the liver and three periportal and pericholedochal lymph nodes. She had an uneventful perioperative period and was doing good till 6 months of follow-up. The only potentially curative treatment for large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the gallbladder is aggressive surgical resection, owing to its aggressive behaviour and bad prognosis. ⋯ carcinoma; case reports; cholecystectomy; gallbladder.

Correlation seminars are used in teaching curricula as a strategy to encourage students to build a solid foundation in basic science at the beginning of the learning process. Establishing a link between basic science and medical practice is the main objective of the correlation seminar which helps students relate topics from basic science with a medical application or disease. Correlation seminars are designated in such a way that students can apply their basic science knowledge acquired from lectures and practical classes in clinical patient care. Course-centred problem-solving emphasises the identification and resolution of clinical issues to enhance clinical reasoning abilities. Through correlation seminars, students are allowed to engage in critical thinking and apply their knowledge of basic science to clinical settings. ⋯ learning; lectures; medical school; medical students.

Case ReportsRecurrent Synovial Sarcoma with Breast and Pulmonary Nodule: A Case Report.
Synovial sarcoma is a mesenchymal tumour with partial epithelial differentiation. About 85-90% of SS occur in the extremities. We present a case of a 44-year-old woman diagnosed with recurrent synovial sarcoma with breast and pulmonary nodules. The primary treatment for synovial sarcoma is wide surgical excision, while chemotherapy is reserved for metastatic cases. In the first-line metastatic setting, combination treatment with adriamycin and ifosfamide is administered. Despite the unfavourable prognosis, the patient's extended survival is fortunately not the typical outcome. ⋯ case reports; chemotherapy; immunohistochemistry; synovial sarcoma.

Case ReportsComplicated Congenital Pulmonary Adenomatoid Malformation Type I following Right Lower Lobectomy: A Case Report.
Congenital pulmonary airway malformation is a rare congenital abnormality of the lungs. It can manifest at any age and can lead to significant morbidity and mortality in infants and children. Some individuals with congenital lung malformations may present with respiratory symptoms right after birth, while others may remain asymptomatic for extended periods. We present a case of a 4-year-old female child who experienced recurrent chest infections. Imaging revealed type I congenital pulmonary airway malformation with an underlying infection. Despite the increased risks associated with surgery and the complexity of the disease, the patient underwent a posterolateral thoracotomy with resection of the right lower lobe. The patient achieved successful outcomes and was able to recover successfully following the surgery. This case study holds significance because several studies have focused on the timing and outcomes of surgical intervention in asymptomatic cases, there remains a lack of consensus regarding symptomatic patients and their outcomes after surgery. ⋯ case reports; neonates; pneumonia.
