Multicenter Study
Clinical features and prognostic factors of intensive and non-intensive 1014 COVID-19 patients: an experience cohort from Alahsa, Saudi Arabia.
COVID-19 is a worldwide pandemic and has placed significant demand for acute and critical care services on hospitals in many countries. ⋯ Identifying key clinical characteristics of COVID-19 that predict ICU admission and high mortality can be useful for frontline healthcare providers in making the right clinical decision under time-sensitive and resource-constricted environment.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Echinacea/sage or chlorhexidine/lidocaine for treating acute sore throats: a randomized double-blind trial.
The aim of this trial was to assess the relative efficacy of a sage/echinacea spray and a chlorhexidine/lidocaine spray in the treatment of acute sore throats. ⋯ An echinacea/sage preparation is as efficacious and well tolerated as a chlorhexidine/lidocaine spray in the treatment of acute sore throats.

Validation of the brief multidimensional life satisfaction scale in patients with chronic diseases.
We intended to determine the reliability of a brief life satisfaction scale in a sample of patients with chronic diseases, and to analyze its external validity. ⋯ The evaluation of the BMLSS revealed that the instrument has good psychometric properties and can be regarded as a brief, reliable and valid measure of LS in patients with chronic diseases. The instrument can be an important additive to existing health-related quality of life questionnaires, since it captures dimensions that contribute to quality of life but are not health related.

Oxygen generation by combined electrolysis and fuel-cell technology: clinical use in COPD patients requiring long time oxygen therapy.
Oxy-Gen lite, a recently developed combined electrolysis and fuel cell technology, de-novo generates oxygen with high purity for medical use from distilled water and room air. However, its use in patients with chronic respiratory failure has never been evaluated. ⋯ The use of Oxy-Gen lite in COPD patients with hypoxemia and LTOT

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Randomised and non-randomised prospective controlled cohort studies in matched-pair design for the long-term therapy of breast cancer patients with a mistletoe preparation (Iscador): a re-analysis.
Expanded presentation and re-analysis of previously published data of randomized and non-randomized studies on mistletoe therapy with breast cancer patients [3, 4]. The main question is: Does a re-analysis confirm the previously reported effects of prolonging the survival of patients with breast cancer under long-term application of a complementary/anthroposophic therapy with the European mistletoe preparation Iscador? ⋯ The re-analysis demonstrates that the effects shown in the previously published data are consistent despite using different analytic methods and different subsets. Overall, the survival of patients receiving mistletoe treatment with Iscador is longer in these studies. In the short term, psychosomatic self-regulation, as a measure of autonomous coping with the disease, rises more under Iscador therapy than under conventional therapy alone.
