Tumor-infiltrating Neutrophils is Prognostic and Predictive For Postoperative Adjuvant Chemotherapy Benefit in Patients With Gastric Cancer.
This study was aimed to investigate the prognostic value of tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) and to generate a predictive model to refine postoperative risk stratification system for patients with gastric cancer. ⋯ TIN in gastric cancer was identified as an independent prognostic factor, which could be incorporated into standard TNM staging system to refine risk stratification and predict for overall survival benefit from postoperative chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of hepatopancreaticoduodenectomy (HPD) for patients with biliary cancer. ⋯ HPD can be safely performed using the presently reported surgical strategies with acceptable short and long-term outcomes. A precise assessment of the extent of tumor spread might improve patient outcome.

Reducing Length of Stay Using a Robotic-assisted Approach for Retromuscular Ventral Hernia Repair: A Comparative Analysis From the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative.
The aim of this study was to compare length of stay (LOS) after robotic-assisted and open retromuscular ventral hernia repair (RVHR). ⋯ Using real-world evidence, a robotic-assisted approach to RVHR offers the clinical benefit of reduced postoperative LOS. Ongoing monitoring of this technique should be employed through continuous quality improvement to determine the long-term effect on hernia recurrence, complications, patient satisfaction, and overall cost.

Risk of Acute Testicular Failure After Preoperative Radiotherapy for Rectal Cancer: A Prospective Cohort Study.
The aim of this study was to assess the acute effect of preoperative RT for rectal cancer on endocrine testicular function. ⋯ Preoperative RT for rectal cancer results in dose-dependent primary testicular failure increasing the risk of hypogonadism at the time of surgery by 2.4 times (number needed to harm = 5).
